Best thing to do is to buy a 3700mAh stick pack (or a few) and one of the cheaper peak detect chargers ... make sure it says that it is NiMh comaptable though ... some still use crazy shut off deltas for NiCd.

3700s are robust and fairly cheep from what I've seen.

As for the motor it's a 20 turn so will be a far bit faster than the stuff you were used to in the Tamiya anyway so it's a good starting point. When you want more speed you'll have to be careful with the stock speed controller as much more than a race spec 19 turn will probably kill it.

Enjoy it.

Vapextech do some well priced stick packs, do a search on google, make sure you have an Aluminum front suspinsion brace if the RTR is not fitted with one, you can see one on the DC site here: http://dcracing.co.uk/dcrshop/produc...oducts_id=1174

Have you read Jim's review of the original ZX-5 on this site, great car have fun.

I have just bought a RTR zx-5 aswell and have been told the speed controller has a 17 turn limit.
Can anyone verify this?
