Ok verdict time regarding prototype layshaft. Just looking at it shows how good a machinist he is. Fitted for pictures minus e clip and spacers but does go together really well. With vts slipper fitted there is plenty of room and enough clearance for the gear cover to go on without hitting the plastic section of the slipper clutch. Feels right. Now to fit in my gearbox and ready for the testing. Pics to follow tomorrow.

Ok sorry for the delay been unable to upload from my phone. The Layshaft looks stunning on its own and was a shame to fit it into the gearbox but as you can see looks alright with the VTS slipper. Now for the testing part

looks great has the lay shaft been treated/hardened for the one way bearing front drive to prevent wear?

The base material is ASSAB 705 and it has been coated by a process called flash chroming. The ASSAB 705 is supposed to be a harder material than steel but it still wore out at the one way bearing, as witnessed in the second prototype. This version has been flash chromed, hopefully this will solve the wear issues. Only testing will tell.

Copying the right materials requiring to grind it down to get som steel dust and then you can run it in a spectrum analyzer to analyze whats in there like

carbon, manganes silica aluminum chrome bore titanium phosfor i guess there are alot of miss spelling now.

lol, I live in a banana republic 3rd world country, don't expect those really expensive hi tech analyzers here. No doubt Malaysia is doing very well for a 3rd world country, but then again , to illustrate, I have to get used oil analysis done in the U.S, there are no such companies doing them here. If I were to ask for spectrum analysis, the machinist here will probably laugh at me.

Ok ive fitted to my own carbon fibre gearbox and have more room available to me, roughly 1mm more to be exact and am happy that it can be used in both gearboxes. Ive fitted without the circlip and have zero spacers on the layshaft. Pics to follow

Hi iso,i still think its better to wait abit to see if the shaft bends. Arms I can sell, but I only have 1 complete set right now. I tested the arms myself trough terrible rough track abuse and they did not fail.
