Probably because about four of the people on this thread (myself included) live with 15 minutes of South Shields (although I live on the GOOD side of the river ) and we KNOW that the Nissan factory is not far!

Your satnav or whatever you are looking at is WRONG!

Here is something better than a postcode - a MAP!

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?saddr=Washington+Rd,+Sunderland,+Tyne+and+Wea r,+SR5+3NS+(Nissan+Sports+And+Social+Club)&geocode =16817364292032108579,54.922941,-1.460691&dirflg=&daddr=john+reid+road+south+shield s&f=d&hl=en&dq=nissan+sports+loc:+sunderland&sll=5 4.904449,-1.381453&sspn=0.036983,0.158475&cid=54922941,-1460691,16125597238423946227&ie=UTF8&ll=54.947851,-1.469078&spn=0.093857,0.32135&z=12&om=0

Nissan is A (it is actually on the other side of the A19 but that is where Google puts it), Temple Park is on the road at B.

Honest Carl - even with my driving, Temple Park is 5-7 minutes from Nissan at the very most, AND you get to pass a McDonalds too... score!

Gutted I'll be missing it... can't believe its so close to my house! Someone better drag my Dad there and make him race...

So what sort of carpet will you be using. Will it be the usual super high grip stuff? Is their going to be more than one jump this year?

I have a few of questions:

How big is the pitting area?

What time do the doors open?

Is electric available?

Who should I email the booked in driver database to (it is quite a big file)? As I don't think I'll be there at 8 as it's a 2 hour drive for me.

Cheers,

G

To answer some of the questions!

Ben, You'll have to wait and see.

G, Basically we have 2 sports halls to use, and a third if no-one books it, they have dividing curtains that can be pulled back or left between, as suits, does that sound rude?? So we have able pitting.

Doors open again is not a problem, usual time between 7 and 8, Chris is in touch with the centre and will be more specific on this and the electic.

Email the database to Bill Allison, let me know if you don't have his email address and I'll pm it to you.

Simon

Just to clarify.

The blue carpet that was used in the past at regionals belonged to Nissan not NERCR. As we are not at Nissan anymore we do not have access to it, even if we wanted it, but we don't, so it doesn't matter.

NO BLUE CARPET WILL BE USED

Col, no your exactly right, there will be no advantage to members as we have not used this venue before. The only people that will have an advantage are those that raced in the World event in 1988, but that was on-road anyway

Considering NERCR is in the unfortunate position of being effectively without a venue at present, and that this will be the first time a regional has been run at Temple Park, you can be sure there will be no "local advantage".

LOL, I presume the club does have some carpet to use? All I am curious about is will the track be completely carpet or have some slippy.

Yes the club has carpet to use, but you would be right to assume there will be some slippy as well!!

Just bring the same tyres as we always run at indoor meetings and you will be in the same boat as everyone else

Do you lot work for CID, all these questions

The tyreto have there would be the T27 with glass tape to belt up the carcass to stop baloonage, then glue the outer walls of the front tyres, this is what worked at the worlds

or you could use a yellow mini pin

It has got me puzzled why people are so desperate to find out what kind of carpet will be used. The last indoor Regional was built by some people not now at the club. (if i remember rightly) Im sure it was quite flat which is a bit naff but since we have been racing a lot more recently thre will be a quality track. Hopefully similar to Yorks recent Regional cos i wasnt able to attend!!

Well done Simon for the tyre advice aswell! Looking forward to this 1!
