likewise I don't like too much contrast in my photos, mainly because it doesn't tend to go well with the bright colours & things can get a little too intense.

You can see my preference for bright warm colours all over this site, even the orangey-yellow borders on the forum.

Yeah If i did this forum skin it probably would be muted colours with high contrast :P

High saturation and high contrast can be messy, low saturation and low contrast can be very grey and dull looking i find.

If we joined forces we'd be able to produce really normal and boring images!

Those look quite good turbo_brick, the first I would of shot with the composition showing more of the bridge in the background. to get a bit of a more balanced composition, a bit of light on the front of the car would of been nice too. A quick and dirty way of doing this is get a torch and during the exposure shine it over the darker area's of the car to try and paint them brighter.

Thanks for the comments guys. I try an use photoshop as little as possible. I had teachers at photo school that drilled it into me that photos should be shot correctly the 1st time rather then using photoshop as your main source of operation.
The Flash shots were done with my studio lights and a Nikon SB-26 as a slave as a back ground filler.
I'm a big fan of color in images but Mole2k, those rally shots just above are awesome. I really like that undersaturated color look with high contrast.
the weapons in my arsenal are:
Digital
- Canon 20D
Film
-Canon EOS 1VHS
Lenses
70-200mm 2.8L
50mm 1.8
20-35mm 2.8-3.6

Yeah I personally much prefer that last shot

The car is nicely balanced by the bridge in the background halo'ing it, I personally would prefer a lower angle but a lot of people prefer to see more of the car like in your shot. Great shot though

The best bit is it's one of mine and i didn't have to buy it just talked my mam into it.

I get to drive it while she works away in iraq for 10 months of the year. Only downside is the fuel bills, when i was out taking the pictures I used £20 worth of optimax in the grand sum of 45 miles.

Lots more quality stuff has been posted here since I last looked, this thread has provided lots of inspiration over the months.

My photographic life has only been marginally more active than my (nonexistent) racing life the last few months, but here are some of my better images of late:
