Default What's the best crash

you have had or witnessed in rc?

My own experience was over the double at batley outdoor one sunday evening. Dont know how but went over it at a weird diagonal angle at full chat. While in the air front wheel got caught up on the guide wall at the rostrum side of the jump. That caused the car to hook round and spin in the air (lots) clearing the width of the straight and leathering into the steel container. Looked amazing and I couldnt believe there wasnt a spec of damage!

My other fav was at halifax watching an eigth scale nitro at full belt go straight off the end of the straight using the banked corner as a launch ramp at full belt into the wooden fence. It made a right noise and parts were flying everywhere. Felt sorry for the guy

Was racing at Bury with the Blade as going down the straight behind a back marker made a move on him he went the same way as me (newbie not his fault) hit the back of him got a tank slapper hit the kirb spun round landed in the middle of the straight with two wheels missing, the next car up the straight hit me again and took another wheel off. Colin Brennan thought it was fantastic.

Scott Davis may not appreciate me posting this one, but he is having a break from racing and I doubt he'll read it. He may even see the funny side now... i hope...

Bury Metro, and its free practice. Scott gets there early to do a few laps and check his B4 over, he decides to set his trim and so is cruising up and down the straight. Colin Brennan is also on the track with his BJ4, nobody else on the track. Just as Colin goes onto the straight, Scott decides to head down the straight full speed in the oposite direction oblivious to Colin.

Just as Scotts car is landing from the raised part of the straight, Colin wipes him out on the volley. Scotts car is obliterated into dust and Colin keeps on going and laughing loudly.

Scott comes back in, blaming Colin (bizarre) and his car has broken tower, both wishbones, front bulkhead, chassis, you name it - it broke. Luckily he had just bought Dan Greenwood's B4 so all he did was swap his electrics over and continues with the second car.

When Colin comes back into the cabin, looks at his BJ4 and there is a small crack in his tower. He says something like "Its alright Scott, I won't make you replace it" and I think Colin continues running the tower for months afterwards. Whats funniest is Colin knows he isn't in the wrong and just says "Sorry mate, think I must have hit the sweet spot" and still laughing.

Me and another car was coming full chat down the straight and as we went to take the sweeper side by side I sort of like nudged him and his car just took off and went sidways into racecontrol and wipped them out hehehehe :bom:

Tom's 'rostrum line' down the straight at Batley was pretty good, either bent or broke virtually every part on the car

It takes skill to bend a BJ4WE motor mount :bom:
