Default schumacher cougar sv2

Hi All ,

having bit of a issue with gearing i have a 6.5 lrp x12 vector looked at gear chart for this and came to 83 spur 21 pinion i found this to run out of top speed however if i try to fit a 24/25/26 pinion i can not get it to mesh or fit properly motor seems not have enough adjustment any help appreciated

thanks

You can run a 24 fine, there may be no room for adjustment and it may look tight but the mesh is perfect.

I run the same motor in my sv2 on a 22 pinion 85 spur and its about right for most tracks but if you wanted more top speed then you'd need a smaller spur gear..

thank for replies

tried a 24 an it sounded awful when meshed so went to a 24 tooth

does a tooth spur fit ? 83 looks really close to the carbon bit that overhangs at the top?

looks like i will have to get a smaller spur want to make it bit less acceleration an bit more top
thanks for info

You could try a smaller spur like a 78 and alter the gearbox ratio to 2.8:1 which will smooth out the acceleration. Just a thought.
