Hi all,

Looking at maybe getting LIPO, on websites etc they all look rectangular, is this so or do you have bottoms shaped to fit in the battery slots of chassis (eg thwe holes!)?

Well I am mainly thining for my tourer, with NOMH I glass tape the cells in, but not sure this is doable with LIPO's!?

My buggy is a 501x so would need a saddle pack!

You can fit the lipos to most car, even the square ones... damn, you can even fit it to some saddle pack cars if you're creative since there's one in an XRay on my review of the trakpower 4900mah pack.

I think orion do a pack which will sit into the slots, but I don't think its generally a problem as long as there's clearance for the square shape of the pack it should be cool.. It's not as heavy as a nimh pack so even if you're taping it in and it 'looks' less secure, the fact it's lighter means it's less likely to get thrown out - if you get my drift.

I found racing touring with a lipo quite enjoyable - the car was ultra competitive and easy to work on (just left the pack in and kept recharging it between rounds)

I'm looking to get a LiPo in the new year for my KMC ZX-5. I know you can get saddle pack LiPo's from the likes of Max Amps, but is there any news on a hard cased saddle pack as yet?

I've heard some info from a chap at our club who has dealings with one of the manufacturers, and according to him it won't be long as they are just working on the wiring harness.

What is the duration on LIPO's compared to NIMH by the way? for example if you get 5 minutes out of IB4200's, what duration running will a 3600 LIPO give?

Thanks,

Dave

This place is going to have them in stock in January. The cells must be ok as its the same cells that Demon are selling. If anyone wants something from the shop it would be best to club together as the postage is quite high for one pack.

EDIT: oops seems that the saddle is not hard cased

u get about the same run time out of a 3200 as the 4200.

the lipo is more efficient

Any indication of when we will be seeing the hard cased saddle packs Mark? Just a ballpark month would be nice to know
