Anyone ran the RB6 with a shorty lipo longways yet? Looking to try it but haven't seen any yet.

Regards

Dave

just a quick one i know it may sound silly but you havent over tightened the screws that attach the shocks to the wishbones have you as it squashed the ball and makes the shock look like there stiff??

That's how I'm running mine. I can't post a pic on here right now as on on a phone, but if you check out our Facebook page there are a couple of pics on there. It creates a lot more room and gives a load more options for weight distribution.

Rudebits are working on a really cool shorty lipo cage too

Default first night out with RB6

hi all i raced mt RB6 at mansfield mcc for the first time tonight in kit set up and wow what a car fast /smooth and turns in like i could not believe and loads of grip front end the only downside is that on the slippy section which was polished wood floor it wouldnt grip very well at all at the rear but i think and was told it proberly down to having new mini pins on and would get better when were a little more wear (more contact patch) but that aside this car realy does suit my driving style love it nuff said

On the slippy stuff make sure your diff isn't too tight I found running it slightly loose really helps grip on the slippy floor

That would explain it then diff was a little tight I just run them like that to start because I didn't want it slipping and killing the diff balls well for the first few runs anyway but I will loosen it off not and try again next week so thanks for the advice Gavin

You'll be shocked at how free you can run Kyosho diffs without them slipping, especially if using the Xgear greases

Totally agree, a drop of thread lock on the nut is a good idea too as mine kept untightening when it was first built, doing that stopped the problem.

Thanks for the advise guys and I did put a spot of thread lock on the alloy diff nut when I installed it as I had the same thought about it coming loose as the original nut is nylock and the alloy exotec isn't I will look at the diff tomorrow and readjust it , the only downside now is that I want to race it more it was so good, carnt say I have been excited about a car like this one for a while and that's after one meeting on kit setup

In case your diff untighten itself it may just be the spring getting softer.
In the manual it state to use plier and squish it a few times.
Once done properly it stays to its setting.

Nylock nut as nothing to do about it.

Awesome diff btw.

I did actually squash the spring and it never came undone but just put a little thread lock just to make sure

Did the diff tonight but I didn't realise the little increments you have to adjust it by I first tried 1/4 turn it felt almost undone so tightened it up fully and loosened it by the tinnest amounts each time until it felt right so it's obvious the car is very sensitive to change but its done and I will see how it's goes next week

Default What's needed...

Ive been looking at either a used or new RB6 to run as well as my DB1 or to replace it.

What option parts are needed to make it reliable. i see some are fitting the exotec front block is that needed, also are the rear hinge pin blocks an issue as there plastic ?

I was going to ask if it's better than the DB1 but i think that may come down to my Thumbs

Cheers
Ross
