Default Optima mid special conversion kit

I have found a BNIB conversion kit, the box is a bit tatty, but the contents are all A1.

I can't find them anywhere for sale, an ideas on price or collectability?

This is the lwb, saddle pack carbon, (?) chassis, topdeck, belts, covers and other bits and bobs.

All I know is that these were bloody expensive when they were new

I have one too

Is yours the 6 cell or 7 cell version? If it's the 7 cell version then it'll have a white sticker in the top left corner on the box front.

No idea on price at the moment but I'd say over a hundred quid, the 7 cell version was rarer I believe.

Can we see a close up pic of the chassis as there were two variants of material
Will you be selling this or have you just bought it?

I have had it from new, believe it or not, yes I am that old!

Don't have any pics as yet, but it's the one with the weave, which I'm pretty sure is some kind of carbon rather than the lesser glass fibre?

It'll be up for sale as soon as I get some pictures sorted, probably tomorrow/Friday.

I'm always open to offers though

Should have added, I'm sure it's the 6cell version.

Hi there,

Anyone knows the value of the 7-cell FRP chassis version? I do have one currently installed on my converted Mid SE, but I am planning on replacing it with the carbon fiber OTW-5 that I bought. There is nothing wrong with it, is just that always liked the look of OTW-5 more.
Here is a pic of the 7-cell FRP chassis:

Hi there and welcome.

I'm lucky enough to own the 6 cell and 7 cell conversion kits new in box

Also I just bought a car for parts off eBay US which by luck has the 7 cell kit fitted, it looks like it started life as a Turbo Mid.

The chassis itself if in good condition could maybe fetch £30 but I'm just guessing??

Hope that helps,

Dan

Thanks DanB4,

I'll just wait for the OTW-5 to arrive and put the 7-cell chassis on ebay, see how far it goes.

Is the seven cell chassis the same as the one that came with the Custom Special or is it a different part number again?
