Generally yes, but good to have both for tuning!

Hi all,

I ran the TM2 for first time on sunday in difficult wet and windy conditions. My first impressions were this car is excellent and with a little fine tuning it is going to be one to beat..
I added some weight to the car and it got better.

Cheers
Jay

Running some back to back tests on astro yesterday I feel the 1 degree alloy rear blocks from the TC02C give better side bite and a much better feel to the car. To use these on the kit wishbones you will need to enlarge the hole in the wishbone to accept the larger pivot pin. I don't feel that this will weaken the wishbone significantly for normal driving conditions but obviously in a heavy impact it could fail. You can of course use the 2wd wishbones but this will shorten the wheelbase considerably and in my opinion makes the car more unstable.

Try it and see if it suits

Hi Alec,
If you flip the 2wd rear wishbone over you dont shorten the wheelbase. You just need to drill the two bottom shock mounting holes on the other side of the arm.

Cheers Paul, will have a look how that affects the angle of the driveshaft and try it tomorrow

Myself and jono raced at Worksop yesterday and both of us were generally chasing rear end grip all day, especially before changing to a ball diff...

Jono went with the standard kit set up and i tried the tc02 wishbones on the back of mine, which did shorten the wheebase slightly. To use those wishbones means that you have to cut down some springs to be able to get a proper ride.

I ended up on losi yellow springs with kit pistons and 20 weight associated oil, 0 degrees antisquat and although it was probably the best it had been it still needed improvement. Ill probably try a softer spring and some added rear weight next time its low grip, what has everyone been running for slippy conditions?

In hindsight i should have probably ran the kit set-up to start with and decide where to go from there, oh well. Jono's car seemed to have more rear end than mine and he was running the kit setup...its something i will try next time out.

In all i think we both went home happy as we didnt drop finals from previous rounds and by the end of the day T4 was running really well

Raced mine at torquay yesterday, the first time it has turned a wheel.
Kit set up,really impressed and went faster straight away than with my 210.Raised the front inner ballstud to gain a bit more steering,i can't believe how much grip it has and how it carves through corners with loads of corner speed.I would like a bit more steering,is anyone running different castor blocks or messed about with the Ackermann?

Hi,
By raising the inner camber link you will take away initial steering but gain mid-exit steering. Where you running 30 deg caster block or standard 25?
To gain more steering try standing the shocks in on the wishbone or run a shorter camber link.
You could then drop shock oil or run softer spring or you could put a stiffer roll bar on (this will take rear grip away)

Cheers
Jay

Got to see the final version of the Phat Bodies TM-2 cab forward shell mould last night...looking very cool....should be available in about 10-14 days. Mr Speedy will post photos ASAP.

Also checked the undertray last night as well, perfect fit and with kick up to secure at front.

Well done Phat Bodies....well worth the wait guys

The tc02c is good everywhere, the tm2 is even better on high grip tracks. So I suppose it depends what surface you race on really.

I'm having trouble understanding the instructions for assembling the slipper clutch. i haven't run the car yet because i'm unsure of how it's supposed to be done.
here's how I have it now:

what have I done wrong?
