Default Vaterra- New brand from Horizon

I am sure I'm not the only person to have had an email today from Horizon Hobby about their new brand Vaterra.

Having had a quick look at their website the cars look alright (http://www.vaterrarc.com/). I am really intrigued to see if the Twin Hammer is the solution to the Buggy/Crawler mystery that the Axial Wraith failed to solve.

The spec lists look like they aren't correct (they show the electric cars as having Mach.28 motors) but it will be interesting to see these. I am also wondering what price point they will be aiming for. A direct conversion from Dollars to GBP suggests they could be quite cheap but I know this is never how it works.

I am also impressed by the spektrum waterproof recievers. I am wondering if this is something that has passed my by but I think I might have to consider a few of these for some of my cars.

The Twin Hammers is brilliant. Waterproof electronics is a massive plus for our weather here in the UK at least. It might only come with a 15T brushed motor as standard but I can vouch that the driveline does standup to a 8.5T sensored brushless set up.

If you've got any questions about the Twin Hammers or any of the Vaterra range I'll do my best to answer you.

UK Horizon dealers can order them from today.
Orders will be shipped to dealers from tomorrow / Friday.

My guess is that they'll be on the shelves from early next week.

Absolutely Griff - that would be brilliant. The full-size King of The Hammers Race in USA - and the Welsh King of the Valleys are brilliant to watch. Now we can have our own version...

If there was a sort of RC Desert Islands Disc - the Twin Hammers is the one vehicle out of everything I've ever owned that I'd want to take with me.

It's just a lot of fun.

There is a race series in UK that the 'Glamis' may fit into...

2013 UK SCT Nationals are running an SCB (Short Course Buggy) class this year, the Glamis dimensions fit the bill.

As long as it runs SCT type wheels (which it looks likes its ok from pics) then it should be able to run.

The Twin Hammers does look like fun, more 1/10th scale sized, definitely needs to be used somewhere dusty to get effect!

Must say their range does look really sweet

Wheelspin list some prices, a bit on the steep side for what you're getting (electronics wise), but I doubt any oOplers buying the cars will keep the stock electrics in for long.
