Default why does

the arse end of my car always come out....

I'm 15 yrs back into the hobby. Yes, I've bought alot of stuff and yes you can call me for it. I used to be a decent A final driver. These days i find the arse end comes out on corners and my car seems totally uncontrollable. i guess im useless, but, i would still expect to be reasonable. the last 4 weeks have been a complete disaster. i was running modified motors, 9 turn and up and didnt even complete 1 race. i went brushless (at a stupid cost) and guess what, didnt complete 1 race (broken rear suspension on bk2, stripped the gear on the xx4)...arrgg. is it too much to ask for 1 car, that can run 5 races so that i can get some practice again?

I'm looking for advice on tires, motors (didnt have to skim in my day, but i now have a lathe too), suspension

I beleive I can still drive, im gr8 at running up and down the road and impressing the kids with my 720's, but i cant seem to put it down on the track...any advice is welcome..

XX4 maybe a little on the soft side, but should still be driveable.
Best thing is let someone have a go of your cars, they will say for sure if its car or driver
Your welcome to see me Sunday and I'll try help if I can.

yes i will be at bury this weekend, look out for the teal and white losi on the track, or the guy with the o0ple t-shirt with my name on the back

bk2 setup:

front

green spring
27.5 losi oil, or 30 weight oil
red piston
0 limitors
middle shock position on tower
middle shock position on wishbone
camber link on bulkhead: centre
camber link on steering: outer
1 thin gold washer on bulkhead under camber link ballstud
VLA position (hingepins by wheel) outside outside
tyres - schumy yellow mini spike (inside and outside rows cut off)

rear

red spring
27.5 losi oil, or 30 weight oil
red piston
0 limitors
second hole out position on tower
inside shock position on wishbone
camber link on tower: middle
camber link on hub: outer
wheelbase: middle
VLA position: outside outside
tyres - schumy yellow mini spike

Cells - forward

wing: 7 inch wing with half flap cut out - makes a big differene imo.

if you still struggle for rear end grip on sunday come see me and ill have a look, this set up i have given you generates abit of understeer.

do you know if the rear end is loose, or if the front end has too much? if the front end has too much try moving the shock to the outside position on the front wishbone. this will limit the droop without having to use internal limitors.

also, if the car is spinning out on its own have you checked the diff? if a diff is too loose then it will spin out, again if you are not sure come see me. last but not least have you set the slipper correctly for each track you visit? i feel each track i go to i have to adjust the slipper a little bit to hit the sweet spot. too tight and its hard to drive and you can get the rear end out easier, too loose and the car feels unresponsive

xx4 - use the magic set up

front

green spring - silver if you need more steering
30 weight losi oil
orange piston
0 limitors
second hole out position on tower
inside hole on wishbones
outer ackerman hole position - you will need to re adjust your turnbuckles for this.
1 degree of camber
middle camber link position on tower
1 thin gold washer under hub camber link
tyres - schumacher yellow mini spikes with inside and outside rows cut off
snee inserts

rear

red spring
30 weight losi oil
blue piston
2 'B' external limitors - this is kit standard so you should be ok.
second hole out position on tower
inside hole on wishbone
wheelbase: middle
camber link on tower: bottom row, furthest outer
camber link on hub: outer
tyres: schumacher yellow mini spikes
snee inserts

cells:forward

wing: 7 inch wing with half of flap cut out
