I think we can all echo Mr Mgee's sentiments concerning the inclusion of Southport.

as far as i remember we had to get our entry by the 24 oct, much as i would like to race at southport, whats the point of having a date and then ignoring it, any other rules we can choose to ignore?

He was spotted browsing this very thread earlier . I'm not sure where the rule is at this point in time, but i'm fairly sure in the past that the official cut off date was the AGM.

May have a look in a bit and see if the rule is/is still in the hand book.

I am confused..... know it does not take much but below is lifted from the BRCA Handbook

4.6 Applications to host a National event, Indoor Final, Junior.& Veterans’ Championship or End of Season Final, must be received by the date of the Section AGM. Applications must include full details of the venue, including : pitting area, toilet facilities, rostrum design/suitability, race control facilities, local accommodation, policy for camping/caravans and advice on suitable control tyres if applicable. Details of standards required can be obtained from the Section Secretary. Sanctioned events can only be granted by the Committee. The calendar of events will be published in January of each year. Dates are subject to force majeure and the approval by the Committee of the venue and organiser.
  1. So based on the above how can clubs not on the minutes list get a national for next year?
  2. If this does happen and your club that has put in and does not get a national can you appeal?
If the above were to happen in my view it could only harm 2009 applications as why would you apply if clubs can apply when they want and adhere to no deadlines........

Not wishing to stir but i would be gutted if my club did not get a nation next year

It's a fair point Si, so the rule is still there then.

I know if i'd gone to all the trouble of submitting for an entry before the printed deadline i'd be a bit miffed. I haven't personally, so it's not an issue to me as such, but an odd one all the same.

No disrespects to anyone at all, but it is good to see tracks applying that are closer to this area of the country. The national series has defenetly felt as if it was centred on either the west of teh north for a while now

I would love to see southport on the callender but again as reevsey said its breaking the rules i dont think its fair to say full stop no they cant have one but i think it would be ok if they could have an end of season finals and not a full national. The BRCA make the rules so they should stick to them to.

Oh help me please Ashley!!!!! - The membership make the rules!!! What would be the point of none interested parties making rules to impose on drivers???? Please please please think, ask someone else , think again, ask another driver then think again before posting twaddle on this sight.

WTF!!!

SITE by the way charlie!!!!

The BRCA commitee make the rules about when national entrys have to be in us drivers dont have a say in it. So Southport shouldnt be aloud to apply for a national as there entry was in late if my entry was late for nationals i woudlnt get in.

'US' drivers have every say in anything, we're the ones who nominate and vote for rules at the AGM. Take a tip from charlie.

The entry from southport hasn't much to do with me, all i know is we have put an entry in, wether we get one isnt really up to us, so whats the fuss for?

OMG!!! Let's be clear...

Proposals are voted on by BRCA members, which turn them into Rules that are enforced by the relevant members of the Section Committees or the Exec. At the end of October each year, the BRCA holds its Association AGM, and each Section holds its Section AGM.

So, Ashley, the membership vote in the Rules; Charlie, the BRCA Committees enforce the Rules, and David, the AGM date is also your Section AGM, so that's the cut-off date.

Go to www.brca.org and read the Handbook - it saves the hankies I need to mop up the tears of laughter, as you lot come flying in so bloody confident you can guess it all, and falling flat on your faces!! (that's me laughing, you understand!! )
