Running a GT2.0 Pro esc in my X6 with a Losi 6.5t motor which seams to be getting too hot and causing the thermal cut out to kick in and stop the buggy. Could this be a brand/compatability problem ???
Could it be the esc ??? I did struggle a bit to wire the esc up aswell, could the soldering cause the problem ??? Think the gearing is 78/23........ cheers ![]()

That ESC should have no trouble in 2WD with a 6.5. I think you should try a differnet gear ratio.
From what I can tell I think you have a final drive ratio of 8.82. For a 6.5 in 2WD Losi recommends 10.8. That would be nearer a 19T pinion. Try reducing the pinion size and see how you get on. James |

The pinion should be picked according to the motor and spur not just the model of car.
With my X6 I use a 24 to 26 pinion on a 10.5t motor and a 22t to 24t pinion on an 8.5t motor. I have an 18t pinion on the 5.5t motor in my B4 (similar to X6) so that's a good starting point for the X6. |

I had a similar issue with my GT2.0 Pro. I wanted to gear it quite high, so I reduced the timing to try and keep the tempurature down and found that if you reduce the timing from the factory settings, the motor actually ran hotter!!!
![]() This was with an early version of firmware. I've now updated to the latest (1.38) with boost and turbo mode, and reducing the boost timing does make it run cooler as expected ![]() |

Ive tried using a different motor which also ran hot as well....... Ive resoldered all the wires using a better quality solder....... Any advice on what settings to use, using the programme box ??? I dont actually know what version firmware i have on it but the esc is at least 2 years old. ![]() ![]() ![]() cheers

There shouldn't be any compatibility issues between the two. I would check the following:
* motor timing * final drive ration What profile are you running on the GT Pro? |
