Ring automotive smart charger. Plug it on and forget about it. Amazon I found to be cheapest.

As above, you need a charger that's always connected, drops to a low charge when the battery is fully charged and tops it up whenever, we use a ctek charger that was over £50, I understand Lidl or Aldi sometimes have something along those lines for > £20

Just a heads up guys, I was using an optimate charger. Purchased because I was told that they were the best option. My 12v leisure battery ( 3 months into its 5 year warranty ) went flat at the last meeting. Charged it on the Optimate until the charged light was lit. Took it to halfords for testing on their Bosch anayalyser, battery fine but low voltage. Contacted the supplier and he told me that the optimate type chargers are great for keeping a charge in motorbikes etc over winter but cut off far too early for leisure batteries. He said that they often get this problem and batteries returned that are faultless. Over a period of time the charge becomes less and less with use. Charged it on my Hyperion and retested at Halfords. All now as new. I may of course have a faulty Optimate but it worked fine when i used it on my mower. Hope this helps.

I will check when I get home as they are saved on a programme and post back later.

Cheers.

Settings i use

Type : Pb ( lead acid )
Voltage : 12V
Capacity : 90ah ( check what ampere hours your own battery is here )
Charge current : 9A

I was told you should charge at approx 10% of the capacity so 90Ah = 9A

Dont quote me on this though, only passing on what i was told. Family business well established, he seemed to know his stuff.

Obviously totally different to Lipo charging.

To have your battery tested at Halfords, they need to know the cold cranking amps. Mine is 750 cca. you get a printed report if you ask nicely
