Default Team Azarashi Body Shell

Anyone with a standard Lazer ZX-5 tried the Team Azarashi body shell? Wondering how well it fits, and whether itll have gaps or not. If it looks good Ill get one! Looks pretty sleek on the KMC Conversion set, thats for sure.

Obviously taller than the kit shell, fits well at the sides but some gaps at front and rear corners, there is an undertray that may seal these gaps if used. We went brushless and this shell made fitting esc & fan easier.

Default Azarashi Shell

Hi,

I've fitted the under tray to an Atomic Ion chassis but it took some work as it's not a perfect fit, there are some gaps at the back.

I've just tried my shell on an original chassis and there is a similar problem in the same area although maybe not as bad.

With some creative cutting you should be able to make it go but I'm not sure it'll be perfect.

Hope this helps...

Mart

Great, thanks for the replies. Im using a brushless aswell, and it certainly is a tight fit with the original body. Ill give it a go and order a set.

Some pics when you're cutting it up would be really appreciated...

I have all three available shells and have used them on the kmc conversion as well as the standard chassis.

Standard chassis, use the optional kyosho bullet shell fits best with loads of room

Kmc chassis, use theazarashi shell with an undertray for the most room or cut a bullet shell high, shame is the huge vents end up in the wrong place!!

Would post some pics but lost the lead for my camera..

Mick might have a few shots though?

Hmm, so the Azarashi fits badly? I couldnt really find any good photos of the Bullet shell, so I didnt consider it. Does it look more like the original, the Azarashi shell or a mix of both?

IMHO the bullet shell looks the best, look at the pics of the worlds, all the 4wd's were running the bullet shell.

If you get the Azarashi shell then make sure you also get the under tray. There are gaps but you won't even know it once the under tray is on. I velcro my shell to my under tray. It gives you a lot more room for electronics and such like.

That Bullet shell does look a LOT better though! Must get one of those! Anybody know if there is an undertray for it?

I have never seen anyone sell a undertray for anything but the Azarashi shell. Maybe itll fit the Bullet shell?

Comparing a clear unpainted Bullet shell to the pic I posted it doesnt look the same ... so what shell is that? Im confused =P

i've run the standard and the azarashi shell for over 12 months on my zx5. run on the atomic carbon chassis, and just made my own bodyshell bits along either side of the chassis to velcro the shell on. photo attached.
in all honesty i loved the azarshi shell, and the wings are fantastic, there is loads more room inside if you are going to run brushless.
you do get small gaps, but i never experianced any problems with mine, and it was run at regionals and a few nationals.
if i had another zx5, it would have an azarashi shell ans wing on it!!
can't find a 'shell off' photo !!!!!!!!!NO5E2934.jpg

The pic above is a new shell not on the market yet, the bullet has 2 large vents over the motor position.

both shells fit well over the car when i talked about fit i was refering to fitting brushless kit under the shell
