Default 17.5 blinky motor for open track?

Hi All,

I can't find any sort of comparison for 17.5 brushless motors for racing. Does anyone know of a comparison? Or alternatively which motor is the best for a long straight (50m) for 1:10 TC.

The flux pro looks nice. But so does the Speed Passion MMM.

Cheers

All the BRCA legal motors are pretty similar. Some are revvy, some are torquey, but they produce similar amounts of power so its just a case of gearing them for the track.

I'd choose one that has adjustable endbell timing, fits in your car well, and has good support from your local shop.

loads of us at Bedworth have been running 17.5 blinky for about a year and a half now so plenty of experience with them, oh and Bedworths straight is about 50 mtrs long.
As has been said not much in any of the motors, last year i ran Novak and HPI Flux, think the flux ran slightly cooler but not much, we are running final ratio of aproximatly 3.2 overall.

Dont go mad on turning the motor timing up to much you dont gain much speed but the temps do go up, rather go up a pinion and turn the timing down a little is the best bet we find.

Oh and im running the Reedy this year and its going very well.
