It doesnt make sense.
I think its just down to the nature of the question asked in the poll Stuart -
"favourite national track" / "I am trying to get a general feeling to what the racers feel is their ideal track"

If the question was to put what are you top 3 in order (for example) choices for national venues i think the results could be different?

9 people does not seem many people if there are 8 events.
Tony
if we did not consider the tracks that did not supply the info then the national series would have consisted of two tracks.

the eight voting members who turned up were
drivers rep
referee
timekeeper
mid south rep
north east rep
south east rep
Pro
mid east rep

which was eight not nine my apologies, the chairman also gets a vote but only in the event of a tie i think.

the are a couple of problems with your poll, firstly its a week too late, and secondly it doesn't differentiate between national and non national drivers, i know your user name and who you are therefor i know you are a national driver but smithy1234 could be anyone, 1/8 or 1/10 onroad. do we count his preference?

You missed the Welsh rep. So you were correct in stating 9.

John, I understand what you’re saying about the info that must be provided for the BRCA by the clubs, so it should be common sense if something trivial like the number for toilets has been missed that can be over looked, but let’s say that the club missies the dates that they can do. Then that’s very important information for the BRCA and should not be considered for a national yeah??

If I was bidding for the Olympics for the UK and my paper work was wrong or missing what would happen?? (I realise national events are not that big)

It’s not going to be the most accurate poll mate your right and maybe this should have been done a few weeks ago. But it still makes people think from the comments to which SHOULD get events.

As it is know this is the only way I can vote.

So no one was there from the North West??

Mr Parr,

I am assuming you know the national venues ? as i can read between the lines of where this poll is going.
I am all for drivers having a say in national selection etc but we will never please everyone, this was my first year involved with the BRCA etc and i have to say that over the last 3 meetings it was looked into very deeply with the way national tracks are selected (John C put in plenty of effort with a good idea)

Lets not forget we had this exact same thing last year when EPR wasn't selected, drivers are never going to be happy with all selections for one thing or another.

Best thing we can do is thing of some ideas of how national venue selections can be changed/improved.... (drivers choosing is never going to work) but it could help towards voting...

Regards

John

John S,

I have no idea what Nationals were going to get, how could I they have not been released. I guess you could tell us??

But I can see from the poll which we should get (as John C says the poll is not 100% correct)

Yes mate, your 100% right racers should not vote, BUT should have an input and at the minute, this is the only way I can have an input.

(I would have voted for EPR last year If could off as I like their track)

So I am.

Why a caravan if not a tent?
I've never quite understood it?

The poll does not mean much, in a general way it shows the clubs that have lots of active oOple forum users.
The multiple choice thing does not help.

It's a bit of fun that should not be taken seriously.
I'm absolutely sure that the comitee will choose what is best for the series.

I voted for Talywain, Southport and Coventry, I'd like to be going there. Coventry 'cos I've never been and the other two have ace local pubs.

Most probable reason would be because the landowner charges more for a two day event with people camping overnight.

Charge for camping?
I understand that some venues have landowner's rules, but I still don't understand the logic behind the rules.
Why is someone sleeping in a caravan different from someone sleeping in a tent?

I/We charge an extortionate £2/night per caravans at RHR and £1/night per tent Not per person - the reason the charge is a little more for caravans is because they may use their own toilets but the first thing caravanners do is fill up their water unit from our tap so they still use the water! Plus we have a chemical toilet disposal point for use by caravanners..

Its a nominal fee but it all helps towards taking away litter, mowing the grass, bog roll, soap, hand towels, cutting the hedges, water, sewage, all that shizzle, the list goes on! We don't take into account the value of the site or buildings etc If you added it up and especially took into account the value of the land at EPR its probably not unreasonable as they need to make a return from their assets. Just speculating!

I always loved Batley - I liked the mix of surfaces. I know it's unfortunately not really an option for Nationals anymore, but we still go there for NE regionals and I still really enjoy racing there.

Behind that - RHR. I love the track, but I also love the entire facility. I know there were comments about sand etc. last year, but I've always enjoyed racing there and look forward to going there for Nationals / Regionals / oOple races etc.

Southport charge £10 for staying in Caravans in Victoria Park because its a stipulation of our use of the Park with the Council....it goes towards "repairing the ground" allegedly.

The ground is the only issue at Southport, cause the water level is so high on it in periods of heavy rain. It could be dealt with with some land drainage but it isn't cheap and probably not high on the Council's agenda. I know they have sorted it in other parts of the park where they have the showground. As long as Damien keeps his Landy then there's no problem! He had to tow that ice cream van out at least twice last year!

Doesn't really detract from the venue though, Southport rocks! (not that I'm biased or anything)

Ha ha I am intrigued, where Gaz Stanton would feel is his ideal track?

Not supported his dad with Ozfest the track he helps to build or his local regional event kiddy.

Him mm I wonder??? Lol!
