I've just painted up a couple of Floteks. They are really nice (the bodies, not my painting skills that is!).

Thumbs up short course body

When I ran short course for about 12 months I trashed many many body shells. Without doubt the strongest construction was the Pro-Line RS14
An unusual shape but a very very tough shell

I quite like that shape actually, makes it look like a Dakar rally vehicle

Proline Flo-Tek and JC manta have been the strongest shells for me, manta wins slightly but Flo-Tek holds its own and looks awesome ;0)

The problem with SCT body selections, when seeking durability, is that it's all but impossible because the bodies are so large and have so many sharpe angles built into them - and then the owners beat them up pretty bad. I've heard "not crashing" helps tremendously.
All you can really do is reinforces the obvious weak spots with shoegoo, perhaps combined with some drywall tape - or the only other thing I've seen done is to "paint" the body with automotive undercoating (comes out black, and heavy) but supposedly very durable.

Agree, but some are better than others - I always reinforce mine with gorilla of gaffer tape, the Proline raptor and stock Traxxas shells for me were very weak - both broke rear wing sections on first tumble. Both my manta and Flo-Tek shells have been through the mill and are holding up really well. The Manta shell, I really don't like - bad paint job on my part, and wheels rub but I cannot break the damn thing other than two tiny cracks in the usual place on rear arches

I use the Flo-tek too and it seems very durable.
