Right, After much thought, me and my brother are giving 8th a go this year. Starting with a few club meeting at NDOR and Deerdale, Hopefully onto the 8/11 (8/12) series... Then Nationals
![]() I will be running a Team Associated RC8B, With a Picco P3 .21B Off-Road SG engine and pipe. Any thoughts on this engine from anyone, general advice welcome? ![]() Running a 6.0v 2000Mah LiFe receiver pack, as I am led to believe these do not have the need for a regulator. Also will be running a Savox 1257 for the steering: http://www.cmldistribution.co.uk/cml...tId=0000004216 And an Alturn AAS-752MG servo for the throttle: http://www.modelsport.co.uk/alturn-u...roducts/359785 Any thoughts on these choices are welcome ![]() ![]() Any other hints/Tips or advice would be much appreciated lol |

my advice for what its worth would be to go up to Tims track(ndor) on a saturday for practice and run the hell out of it. I was there today running my engine in and it was great fun. Track seems massive after all the tenth ones that we run on but the 1/8 cars cover the ground very quickly and drive very differently to the tenth cars. I was surprised how nimble it was considering how heavy they are. Very impressed so far. May have caught the nitro bug.

Get a couple of RC Sure Start engine heaters, invaluable especially coming into winter. http://www.rcsurestart.co.uk/ along with the latest version of the SMD Evolution starter box.
Not sure how the specs compare but I've been told to get Savox 1258 for the steering & 1256 for the throttle. Unfortunately I haven't heard that many good things from people on the picco's ![]() Good luck, maybe you should make a blog between you so other people wanting to make the jump from electric tenth to nitro eighth can see what it's like. Enjoy ![]() |

yes mate as some people have said and is true, the picco engine isn't the best or good as they are a sod to tune and do have problems,if i was you i'd buy a novarossi 21 non lullstart or a hyper 21 8port engine. i rate both of these engines 5 stars.
