Ok, so before I even start on what this thread is obviously about, I just want to let everyone know that I am posting this thread in the Tamiya section of the forum too. So now that you know I'm giving the Tamiya guys a crack at this question too...
So which 1/10 scale 2wd electric offroad buggy do I get? I boiled it down to 2 cars. RC10B4.1 and TRF201. I want to know which one is better. Give me pros and cons. I want to know which one turns better, which one is better suiter to smaller, tighter, more technical tracks. I run dirt(clay) exclusively. I never run any artificial surfaces. Which one jumps better? Which one has better mid corner handling? Which one is faster in the straights?? Any and every piece of info that pertains to my final decision will be much appreciated here. Let the debate begin... ![]() |

I'm using the B4 and B4.1 for a long time now, it's an amazing car. The design is quite old but the Asso is still in shape. This summer Associated won the world titles, in both classes.
Further to this, the Associated team drivers help us on this forum. You can find many set-ups out there and in UK you have a lot of Associated top drivers also ![]() Sorry, but I don't have any experience on the trf201, I can only say that it's pretty much the same as a B4 carbon copy. FYI, consider the TLR 22 buggy car also. I'm currently using this car. Tests are in progress..... bye bye for now |

It's just the choice you make, Do you want an original imperial B4 or a metric B4 that was made bij the caliper maffia ?

i had a 201 and a b4 (not 4.1) so i am unsure if this counts in this discussion but i found the 201 easier to drive and not as aggressive as the b4 which i liked. I just couldnt get the 201 to turn in as well. I do wonder what the next 2wd cars from tamiya and associated will be like.

B4/B4.1 most people have had one or still have one, spares are cheap and are easy to get hold of, loads of people will help with setups and advice at the track or on oople...........
