Default good laptop deals

My dad's pc has given up the ghost so he's eyeing up deals from PC world / currys on laptops since the monitor has gone too.

Are there any good deals anyone recommends? I'm a mac fanboy so anything that isn't a i series processor means nothing to me lol.

Is 2gb ram enough for windows 7?

4gb for Windows 7 really. Core i3 or i5 is good enough for most people. Check out www.hotukdeals.com for deals.
Dell laptops are cheap, but arn't really that good. You can check out Dell outlet for refurbished laptops that are cheap.
HP have some good deals on their laptops. I would factor in a 3 year warranty personally, dependant on price.

I think he's aiming for 300-400... doesn't leave us with much room for decent chipsets

Tesco have some good deals on all the big names. Pick your own requirements.

i got a dell inspiron 15R from Saveonlaptops.co.uk the other week for my parents. It was around £390 with core i3 and dedicated ATi graphics chip. It was a lot of machine for the money. Their service was excelent also, constant emails about the state of order and dispatch along with tracking info etc.

worth a look for their latest offers
