Now that I actually HAVE a 4WD car (ok, it's not built yet) and I HAVE bought my Brushless system (OK it's still in the box) I now need my Servo. I dont want to break the bank. What do you suggest for under £100 (well under £100 if possible).

KO 2123 is the best value KO. not digital. about £85 new i think, or about 30-35 second hand. Both mine are second hand and are bullet proof. 7.2v, metal gears, loads of torque and speed.
think the new blue birds are worth a look as a cheaper alternative new. But i don't think you will beat a second hand 2123.

You better be racing it at marston.
What brushless did you go for??? As for servo's i think the blue bird servo's are ace metal geared strong and fast its all you could even need i think the exspensive KO's are silly money and thats in my opinion and i like all the exspensive new stuff like my ko tranny etc. A

Cheers, According to the KO site, the PDS-2123FET is a 7.2V servo. Does it have a blue wire or just the three wire connection to the receiver? If it has the blue wire, do I need to put a choke in line with it?
Which bluebird (why could they not have chosen a less girly name) servo would people recommend? there seem to be loads. What does Stu have in the 501X? What about low profile servo's? anything suitable in the price range? Neil ps - no Ash, im not racing at Marston, its not built yet and it might get dirty anyway. My new ESC is in my signature

for £22 that's not bad! could do with a fraction more torque maybe for 4wd, but great for 2wd

You have to race it means ill have everyone pileing into my gazebo.
As for the 7.2v servo's you shouldnt need a choke i dont use one in my 2wd never had a problem. As for blue bird servo's this one is a good one i dont think its the same as mine ill have to check but the specs on this are good. http://www.rcmart.com/catalog/produc...ducts_id=21939 A Quote:

Thanks guys. The 2123 does look great doesnt it, all things to all men.
Andy, your little PDS-2413ICS, is that commonly used in 4WD or was it designed for TC's? - not saying its girly, cos i bet it looks so cool in the car (im digging a hole here....) On the KO site it give torque in Oz only for the new servo's. The discontinued Servo's have the Torque in Oz and Kg but if you convert the figure in Oz into Kg you get a different answer so i guess the beam length used for the figure must be different? any ideas? im not a mech eng... http://www.kopropo.com/servos.htm http://www.kopropo.com/discontinued_servos.htm |

ALWAYS run a fet choke when running a 7.2v servo unless you want to fry it!

You could buy a JR servo of very similar spec but alot easier on the wallet ive had a JR servo and it was very good for the small sum of money i paid for it. And its still going stong.

Neil, bite the bullet and get a KO2123. Not cheap, but there are deals out there (especially from abroad) and you'll never look back!
