on the topic of gear boxes .. i'm wondering if any owners have a similar problem as mine does. i don't have any issues with slop on the diff case BUT where the gear box is exposed (small rectangular area) at the bottom of the chassis, mine is worn all the way through until a small hole appears (around 1mm by 2mm) exposing the internal gear!
i run on dirt track (some times abrasive, depending on weather).
The bottom chassis has normal wear, certainly nothing excessive.

did i win the short straw again?
Nope, you are not alone. I have a (small) hole too. I tend to cover the chassis with some ducttape. It covers the hole and prevents dirt into the screws.

I have been in contact with Fabs from time to time and I know he has been on the business all the time. The problem, indeed as stated higher, was that he was depending on other people's promisses and stuff. ANyway, I'm confident that I'll have my two Gearboxes soon noow (I have two MCS's )

Can't wait to drive the new GB

Well done Fabs! SO glad this sh*tty episode is coming to an end.

@ Le_sam:

merci, dude. Je suis content que je vais avoir mes new GB's de Fabs ... mais je suis toujour interessé par ton GB en metal.
Si tu ne l' a pas encore fait, tu peut m'ajouter dans ta liste. C' est d'accord pour les € 53 (not cheap, but hey, an extra spare can't be bad)

I have just had the person in charge of production: it is good, the machine works!
I go there tomorrow morning to see the manufacturing, normally I return with, at least, the first gearbox.
All maybe (have I to make the quality's control first).
Tomorrow for more details...

good evening!

Hello!

Still nothing concrete, they are for the programming there and I asked to make changes:
After consideration further to a remark from Caneye I asked to thicken the bottom and the lower surface of 0,5mm (and 0,5mm lower the anchorpoints) to have a little more material below the diff '.
They thus finish the programming on Monday and go build up the prototype with gears to see if everything is correct, I return the next day.
If I confirm on Tuesday, copies will be made before the next week-end.
What makes good week of delay on the forecasts but that seems to succeed.

sorry for this delay. i do my best.
If somebody has a last minute's idea, he does not hesitate to say it!

Good weekend, in Tuesday for (good) news I think.

lol, that sounds like the kind of little delays, Fabs had also always, and the more, and more ...
just teasing
I guess that's all very normal when processing parts.
What happens here is proof of that again

yop!

That is not completed, they revise their program and call back me on Thursday or tomorrow.
In any case it is sure, I am obliged to make them. the 4 cars of the team wait for them!
3 carbon chassis are for the cut (9mm longer for dirt), I shall not make step-back!
If I had my own CNC machine it would be made since July... not, since March!

I ran the MCS yesterday at a Southport after Nick Caro borrowed me his spare gearbox and must say it’s the easiest and best car I have ever driven finished 5th overall. Looking forward to the F2’s this weekend at Silverstone.

hello!

it's not an easy quest...

i've work 4 h at the factory (yes, i've worked for the guys who are working for me, lol!) to make it better than they do themself (i don't give details, too tired)
so, few days before the entire production if the next prototype is perfect.

happy-end incomming...

bye!
