you need to use CA glue which is strong enough to hold the tyre on and is thin so will run into the tyre bead. It will also run anywhere else too as its like water so be careful. It can be removed with the use of acetone. Some people on here sell it and it lasts ages. Some cheap nail varnish removers also contain acetone and does the job ok

Superglue is the best (i can recomend nuclear fusion ca glue!)
to remove the tyres once they are worn out, I always use acetone, the wheels are ready to use straight away afterwards |

thankyou for the quick response,
i have loctite superglue easy brush and ever build industrial grade superglue, would either of these be ok or would i be better off getting CA glue (whatever that is), lol was thinking if i use superglue then just doing 4 spots on each side of tyre instead of all around the rim or is all around the rim best,,,

CA is CynoActrylate glue.
Superglue is just a trade name of one type of Cynoacrylate. Easiest way to glue tyres is to use a water thin type CA, so that it flows all the way around the bead. Not sure if any of the types you mention are water thin? 4 dabs sround the rim will not hold them on at all well!!! Running the bead all the way round will make sure they never pop off under power/high speed turns, and keep all the dirt out! Go nuclear...tis proper good ![]()

The original is the best, Loctite. Either their 401, 454 or 408. All the RC branded adhesive products are rebadged industrial CA products that you can get from a local engineers supplier at a lower cost. Do a google search on Loctite Distributors and I'm sure you'll find somewhere local. I would recommend Brammer.

+1 for nuclear glue. Its like superglue-zilla, and even sticks Proline tyres which are notoriously hard to get to stay stuck.
(and Ive tried Loctite - didnt work) The way I remove the glue, is just BAKE your wheels in the oven! Stick them on a baking tray, and put them in a pre-heated oven (140C) for about 15 minutes, then turn them over, another 15mins and then hey presto, the tyres just lift away from the wheels. Best of all, you can then reuse the tyres, wheels and even the foams! ![]() ....oh, Ive come over all a bit Delia. ![]() |

Loctite didn't work? I can believe that really. They have over 2000 different products for different applications. Just because it says loctite on the bottle doesn't mean it'll stick rubber tyres to plastic wheels! CA's also have a limited life so its very possible you used an incorrect product or an out of date correct one?
I mainly use 406 but don't take my word for it. Have a look at how big the instant range is alone. Have a look at the 410, thats the one we should be using but its black not clear so I don't. Looks over function everytime ![]() http://www.loctite.co.uk/cps/rde/xch...ction%3Dsearch| I agree the Nuclear stuff is really good and Dave is a good guy. We've bought and sold things from each other and I don't want to do down his nuclear brand. Just pointing out its a rebaged product so why not buy a named product from the guys who invented and lead the market in adhesives? |
