Default which pinion and spur gears fit Core SCT?

Hi people, I know the Core SCT shares parts with mad rat/ macnum but can I use pinions/ spurs from these kits? Anyone have a link to 'shared' parts among the ansmann off road cars?

All the pinions from the other kits will fit, so long as they are 48dp
The spur on the SCT (and macnum) is a 86t and the ones on the rat/monkey are 80t
Right spares:
Front and rear shock towers along with the chassis are only for the CORE!
Lower and upper arms and rear axles are same as The macnum
Gear box and t plate from mad rat
Front lower kick plate and upper part (for shock tower), Hubs front and rear from any of the 2wd buggies

I have the CORE as well and well pleased with it

Default cheers

Thanks for thorough reply, really helps. I haven't managed to root out many CORE owners so its good to find another owner.

I havent run mine yet..had a couple of issues with the kit that....fair play to Ansmann.......have now been replaced...the chassis and the pinion. I want to put a brushless system into in..thus I was asking about gearing...what are you running??

thanks again, youve been a great help.

Glad it helps

Yeah same here...... Think there is only us 2 that own or own up to having the CORE

I'm currently running a 10.5 bl system in mine, Only raced mine once outdoors (at Bury) where i think I won most of the heats (till rain stopped play) cannot remember what gearing I had it on then as it was put away untill this week where I got it running again for a play at my local indoor (smallish) track! I ran a 19t pinion (think it was the kit one) but think I need to go down a tooth or 2 as the motor was a little warm in practice!

Raced it in my last race against 3 Rats and finished 2nd, came off the rostrum with a huge grin they are such a giggle and I'm surprised at how well they grip with the standard tyres

Mine has been hopped up slightly..... I have losi shocks fitted, different motor plate, rear weight hanger thing (what the rear shock tower mounts to) turnbuckles (from a sc10) and alloy rear pivot blocks fitted!

I also have a savox low profile servo fitted and about 70/80g's of weight in the space behind the servo

I need to get to some more race meetings with it

Default I've got one too

....did a google search on Core SCT gearing and came across this thread......so may as well join the club and make it three

Got my (near enough new) Core 2nd hand, so just transplated all the bits of electrics I had lying around into it.......literally just ran it round in the garden for the first time......first impressions.......like it

On what I believe is the stock spur, replaced the 19t pinion for a 20t one and I think that's it sorted, motor and esc temps quite low after a quick burn round the garden

Well, the electrics really are what I had lying around, not really racing electrics, moreso bashing around....nonetheless, have a velineon vxl esc with a EZrun 9t motor, had a spare Ko Propo 2343 too, so the servo's at least a good one -have a Flux Warp 5700kv too, which I may experiment with.

It's amazing how light it is Going to take both my trucks up EPR again at some point in the future, so guessing me slab of roofing lead will be put to good use with the Core

Should be quick with a ezrun 9t......a friend of mine runs one in his rat as down the straight no one can catch him with the 5700kv it's gonna be NUTS

Yeah for the size of them you'd think they would be mega heavy...they are roughly the same size as a 8th ic buggy

I have around 70g's of weight behind my low profile savox servo and thats about all the weight I run

Where is EPR?

Yeah the 9t's got a fair punch to it....you may have just swayed me to get some bullets and butcher the flux connectors and put it in for a laugh

If I do race it, will probably add a slap to the batt compartment and maybe a bit up front too The Ko Propo servo really packs some punch up the front end, so'll be good to weigh it down a tad.

EPR is near Beckenham - just off J5 on the M25 if I remember rightly.

Hi Matt

3 of us...almost dedicated forum!

Funnily enough I have just run mine round the garden and I too am impressed.......I've got a Tamiya BZ motor which is brushed and about 21t and a 4300mah nimh and goes well.....it is very light.....its the only scale looking RC I have and it makes a change from buggies and truggies.....I like the way it floats around on its shocks!!

I'm going to put a brushless into it...probably ezrun combo....8.5t I think.....or do you think it will be too fast to handle??

I went to watch the Adur RC leg of the HPI short course challenge today....not surprisingly not an Ansmann in site!!

Short course racing is impressive to watch.....all the cars were flying, very impressive driving too....

One word of wisdom Matt is to watch out for the kit hex bolts as they are really soft...I have replaced the ones which screw into the harder plastic of the chassis with stainless...Ansmann replaced my original chassis cause all the hex's were stripping!

Hi ya

We special be us

re 8.5t, I suppose it depends on if your racing or bashing? If racing would think an 8.5t is a tad too much - especially given the weight of the truck - it wouldn't just parachute it will go off into orbit - if racing a 10.5t would be more than enough I would say.

However if bashing, than an 8.5t sounds ace The 9t ezun in mine, is more than plenty really - on a vxl and a 6000mah 2s 25-50c pack. (I'll have to put thr 3s in it and see how fast it is then )

I think ansmanns will be more more common, like all things, in time

Cheers for the heads up on the hexs, although mines 2nd hand, the guy that had it before me left the reciept in the box and he'd only had it for just under 3months, so still under warranty

Problem for me is that the last 3-4 cars I've had have only been run in my garden - which ain't that big (E-revo/Hyper Truggy/Slash 4x4 and now the Core).

So defo looking forward to getting the core and the slash into some nice open space real soon

I was entered I to the ndor sct national the other week but had to pull out at the last minute and looking at the list of people who had entered I was (going to be) the only Ansmann entered !

Going to enter the Coventry round (fingers crossed) and see how well it compares to other sct's

BL....... Oh dear! I've just put a Hacker 7.5t motor into my core as I robbed the 10.5 to put into the king rat I'm building

Hope coventry goes well

7.5t......whats that I was saying about going into orbit

Going to take the core out for a proper bash next weekend - so will be interesting to see how it does for breakages etc

Cheers Matt

Lol yeah I'm hoping it does!...... Should be interesting to say the least I asked around the truck section about motors and a lot of the guys seem to run modified even in 2wd

It's a pretty tough sct, the only thing IMO up to now that let's it down is the quality of the shell (as with all Ansmann's pre-painted/printed shells!!), as mine split within a few minutes of running is off road I've given my sct some serious crashes! so it's now being held together with duck tape lol

....now I'm undecided after your knowledgeable advice......I am only bashing at the moment but I am planning on racing soon......I guess a 9t is the happy medium between the 8.5t and 10.5t (ezrun dont do a 9.5t) but I am concerned that the 9t isn't true 540......ezrun dont do a 9.5t......

Well there are some 9.5t's......

http://toys.shop.ebay.co.uk/Toys-Gam...=p3286.c0.m282

mind you if your racing, will it be where BRCA rules apply? if so the Ezrun motor's as far as I know are not on the BRCA list

TBH tho, even a 10.5t is going to be good enough to bash with really I would say......the novak 10.5 I used to have in my 2wd slash, still packed a good punch
