Question Wierd turnbuckle colour

Ive always thought the standard FT turnbuckles on the B4/44 were abit of a gash colour, but today while cleaning the ball cups with motor cleaner I accidentally wiped the turnbuckle and it came up a much better colour blue. I wiped one properly and it came out fantastic, so I've done them all .

Whats the deal with the reaction?, or is it just the excess anodising thats been wiped off a bit making it lighter? Whatever it is it looks ten time better.

yea, but out of the packet they're a dark dingey blue, after a wipe theyre bright and shiny.

Edit:

Just got two from the same car and done one but not the other to compare directly and its not so much the actual colour that changes but the way it shines in the light which makes it look better.

I'm not claiming a breakthrough but just wondered if anyone else has seen this sort of thing before
