Default RC10 B3 - STOLEN...

CALL OFF THE SEARCH ;-) The car has now finally arrived, thanks for the responses.

Nick.

Well i can't really put it any other way as basically the guy who i sent this to from Ebay is saying he's never received it so i've told him i'll post it up on the Net as Stolen so if anyone see's this car racing at a local club or anything, please at least ask them where they got it and mention this thread?? I guess really it should have been sent recorded but i kept costs down by selling with 1st class, and have honestly never had a problem like this before.

It's quite unusual as it has the milled out chassis and obviously the bodyshell isn't likely to be a copy if you see one the same.

Here are some pics just on the off chance you se it:

Hi mate,

It was sent 1st class but that's all i know as the Missus did it.....

It was sent to the Manchester area but obviously could have gone missing anywhere inbetween if the Royal Mail have lost it?

if it went first class parcel, it can take a while to get there, but if it was worth anything, hsould of at least sent it recorded, the shells I do all get sent Special Delivery unless the person wants something else, just not worth the hassle.

It was posted on the 14th June so should have got there ages ago now

I agree that it should have been sent recorded (easy to think now i know) but i've never had an issue posting stuff 1st class so didn't really worry about it.

Trouble is that although it's unlikely the buyer could just be saying they've not got it and i basically have no choice but to give a refund but who knows.

doesn't royal mail have a 30day wait after posting to be able to put the parcel down as lost, did you take out insurance on the parcel?

Its a shame it looks a very nice good condition one to. Its a shame when these sort of things happen.

did the buyer now how it was being sent?
If so you are not really responsible for the lost package. the buyer should have requested insurance and recorded mail.
then again if you just want to be a nice guy send him the money back.

I always took it this way, that the buyer was responsible for the type of shipping therefore if it got lost he would lose out. I guess it depends if you can take the negative feedback it would probably bring. When buying stuff off ebay i always request postal insurance/registered post for peace of mind.

true but ebay dont see it that way, if you have no tracker number u are responsible as a seller to make sure it gets there,no tracker and it gets lost , you have to refund, unless u can prove it been delivered,

What town in the Manchester area? Do you know the buyers name?

There is a small chance he saw it arrive 1st class and thought "Hey, I don't sign for this and can blag a refund". I hope Bury club members will watch out for any new faces showing up with a B3.

Are there any unique features beyond the shell? a Euros/Worlds chassis marking? Something we can point to and say confidently "thats a stolen B3".

Those chassis' are very very rare, that should give you a basis to be suspicious.
I had some idiot say he didn't receive a car once, although i had proof on a tracking number, some people just have no morals!

Good luck with it mate, you racing sunday?

I posted a load of parcels on 13th and they have only just arrived (yesterday, 19th). They were sent First class recorded.

Took ages because of the strikes.

I'd give things a few more days.

One thing you should definitely do is file a complaint for lost in post with the Royal Mail.

You can get a form for it at the Post Office.

Basically, as long as you have some kind of proof of posting you should be able to get compensation (up to £32 I think, value of 100 1st class stamps) if it has been lost.

Or, if it is stuck in the corner of the sorting office they might "find it".

Or, if they have had several reports of lost in post to the same address... well, you never know what they might be able to do!

The post office dont consider it lost for something like 30 days after the post date, then take another 30 days to look into it... I had some batteries go "missing" like this but i did not refund the money until the post office coughed up £100 (they were insured). Now I post EVERYTHING "signed for" to prevent the possibility that i might be stitched up.

I hope the B3 turns up, its a nice looking motor. Is the guy who bought the car an RC racer? have you looked at his previous purchases to see?
