Default Kyosho Vega

Hi,

Apart from the Vega conversion, what Kyosho car do I need, are you guys running any option parts or weight kits, and what springs do I need.

Thanks

Matt

Ideally an RB5sp2 ...
Or buy a second hand rb5 and buy the sp2 layshaft for the transmission
Then job is a very good one!

So I can get any RB5 and use that as a donor car as long as I get the SP2 layshaft?

I thought the shocks were different on the SP/SP2?

I think you'll need the wider hing pin braces and shorter rear wishbones too. I'm not completely sure of all the changes between the two cars so hopefully someone with a longer Kyosho history can confirm.

Easiest way to go would be to have the full sp2 as then it'll be easier to compare setups though.

We have 1 vega RB5 left in stock!

As far as im aware the only differences between an SP / SP2..

Is the rear suspension arms (same length but different mounting positions for the shocks)

SP = UM521
SP2 = UM521-1

The SP2 shock hole would sit inbetween the 2 holes on the SP.

The only other difference is the motor centering kit which includes..

UM523 Motor Offset Spacer
UM524 Extended Main Gear Shaft

Also in the SP2 you may get the SP Idler gear aswell... UMW513 and i think the newer rear hubs UM519-2 (same hub but different positions for camber links, holes are further out)

So really all you would need is an SP kit and buy the UM524

If its an older RB5..then you would need UM524 and either of the above wishbones and possibly UM519/UM519-2

In the SP/SP2 you get the narrow and wide hinge pin holders in plastic.. but these are available in ally... UMW511 UMW512 - UMW514 UMW515

Hope this helps!

If you are still talking to me (LOL) then come and see me and I can run through everything you need for the Kyosho Vega. You know - the do and don'ts.
Just springs and balancing weight needed if you get the SP2.
I can also do some set up print outs for you as well.

Kyosho Vega?!
Way to go baby!
