Think I'll go 22 then as the track won't be that big at TRCC's new indoor venue. I'll ask Gary Waller on Wednesday and see what he's got in his as I know he's raced there.

Try Ryan Lutz's or my setup. Use the Dot 4 insert.

I've got a problem with either my rs pro or novak 4.5 motor
start of the race its fine but after only around a minute, if i jam full power the car stutters and only picks up speed slowly, if i squeeze the power on it behaves its self. its geared quite low i think with standard cougar sv gearing and 15t pinion on a fairly tight indoor track, by the end of the race its flashing all lights for heat, and the motors toasty warm too. same issue with sensor cable unplugged motor timings at 0 on speed control

It's a cougar SV

i've replaced the power cap with a speed passion unit

I have the same powercap fitted into a pred with a 5.0 motor too and thats fine. is there a way to test powercaps?

Your running a 4.5 on a tight indoor track on a 15t ??? Thats not a healthy start, no wonder things are getting warm, have you got anything milder that you can try ?? Also to rule out the motor.

True it's not ideal, and i have ordered an 8.5 but it's not shown up yet!
i was running the exact same motor with aproximatly the same ratio in a b4, with a gtb, and same 50c 5900 lrp lips and whilst still warm that handled it without any issues

Settings worked fine but with 42's & 6.5 X12 on 23/87 it went soft. Managed to get all the temp lights on . Checked the motor and it had a 2 dot insert in. Swaped motor to a 7.5 with 4 dot insert and the esc temp'd out at about 60% on the lights.

Funny how too much timing creates so much heat. Fast mod motors rarely require nor like a lot of timing.

And big timing on an X12 (Known to run hot) - could end up being an epic fail!
