B44-What could improve?

Hi!
I am designing a new chassis and top decks out of CF and would like experienced B44 drivers to give me some inputs of the cars character.
Have not been driving it myself but came across one cheep so I thought of building a new version of it. My impression of it is that it seems very stiff like a brick and does not handle bumpy tracks very well in loose dirt conditions that is. That is my view.

Please, tell me what you wish out of the car. My idea is to move the motor forward in the car much like the mid44 and soften up the rear a lot with more flex. Have been working on a flex control system for 4wd buggies that makes it adjustable in several steps.

And of course for the fun of it and because I can. Need a new project

I run the AE car for about 2 yars and i have the same opinion ,the chassi is very stiff you can cut the front upper deck and the rear upper deck to give more flex...

why move the motor more forward?

TRF502 layout perhaps? Compare those two. More weight over the front wheels. Servo and back end of motor in-line. Soften up the rear end of the car for more grip on loose tracks. Thiner chassi if lipos move toward the centre. Think Tamiyas "copy" hit the target.

Is the chassis upside down on the B44? Everything's on the wrong side...

Tried to see how it would look like with the motor on the other side much like the DEX410 or Kyoshos FS Lazers. I have this crazy idea they are right regarding the rotating mass of the motor, but lets not get into that if its the right way to do things. My little project only.

I think the B44 is a great car and a good way to get back into the hobby since 2nd hand models are cheap and plenty around plus parts are never hard to find too.

The only gripe I had when I raced one was there isn't much in the way of adjustment on the back end and fitting and removing those washers to change the anti-squat was fiddly to do. While I almost have the same issue with the Durango now this could easily be fixed with narrower/wider brackets to go on the back of the car whereas to do the same on the B44 would require loads more work.

The car is obviously a great design already given how much it has won around the world and continues to do so in the B44.1

Thinking... What would 7mm longer wheelbase do for the car? Have an idea I am working on.

Only real issue I have with my B44 is the amount of slop in the steering mechanism once it's a little worn. Would be nice to have everything ballraced to eliminate this.
