The guys at RC Disco recommended Edit purple or Schumacher Tubby inserts, which is what I ordered. I will only be able to test them in May/June, however...

dBoots will offer a line of inner foams in the future, too.

Anybody tried these on carpet yet, if so what were they like compared to mini pins in regards to grip and wear rate. Do they stay good until the end, or die off?

I ran them last Wednesday at Denton on my X6 and Friday Leyland + Sunday Formby on my Doorongo. In comparison I'd choose them over Schuy mini pins. I feel they are a bit more grippy, but in a weird way more predictable, if that makes sense.

I was so impressed that I have just ordered a set of their new MultiByte tyres for the outdoors season. Keep in mind that I am a crap driver, so the more capable might find the handling of the tyres somewhat different.

I ran terrabyte's at York last sat on carpet and polished floor.
Pretty good on the carpet (but certainly not much better than pins) but utterly hopeless on the slippy floor. Would have been better without tyres at all...
I'll save them for outdoors!

I ran mine at Ludlow last night in the practice and I agree with Col. Completely useless on polished floor. When we use new pins they are the same until round 3 when they bed in so I'll keep using them to see if they get any better.

I swapped to pins and the car was on rails lol.

Ran them at moto arena last night, when they were new they had waaaaaay to much grip on the carpet, grip roll at the slighest amount of steering and a bit loose on the tarmac.

But when they wore down still had loads of grip on the carpet and as much grip on the tarmac as used mini spikes. seem to eb the best tyre i have used at the moto arena.

Think they are much more forgiving than mini pins.

think there a very good tyre

Ran a new set at Chadderton in 4WD on carpet / hall floor.

They were ok, nothing special, but pretty shot and worn by the end of the meeting. I'll be buying Schumacher pins next time, they last longer and for me that's very important.

Has anyone actually been changing set up for these tyres when trying them? You shouldn't expect the tyres to work their best on the same setup you use for schueys

Yes I chnaged my setup as on slippery stuff they didnt have the same grip as minipins so increased camber by 1 deg all round.

echo what andys has said.

i ran them at Chadderton and they were worn out by the end of the day. I have used them indoors at Formby High too, and they wear rate on a AC CR2 to me seemed high.

Plenty of grip from them though - the front tyres gave bcuket loads of grip without any hint of understeer. This, whilst being good for some drivers made the car too twitchy for me, so reverted to dboots on the back and schuey minipsikes upfront.

If the track has any slippy surfaces such as a polished floor on it though, these tyres are best avoided because they have no grip whatsoever on slippy stuff.

Do you use wide or cut-down/narrow front wheels on 2WD buggies?

I've been reliably informed by Simon he rolls wide.

But he carries it well.

Does that mean that I should trim the wheels down?

Narrow is trimming them down.

Wide is not trimmed.
