Hi,
I'm looking for a good 4wd car that uses stick packs instead of saddles. It looks like they are very rare ![]() - Schumacher Cat SX2 - Kyosho Lazer zx-5 SP (but it's a old version) I've something like: "Why the heck can't there be more good cars that use stick packs!" Does anyone know some cars like that? Or cars that can be converted? I'm very curious about this... Greetings, |

Tamiya DB01R, or go old school and convert a XX4 to stick pack?
HPI Cyber 10B I think one of the Ansmann cars takes sticks but I think its not really a race car. Thats about all the ones I can think of |

You can't beat the balance of having all the weight grouped together and symetrical around the chassis center line ... it's just basic physics really.

Ive heard you can put the Ansmann Blizzard stick pack chassis on the X4 pro but I'm not 100% sure what else is needed.

I think the DB01R is the best out of all those except for the Cat SX2...
The others are old or not very popular/good racing cars I think. The Lazer SP is not discontinued, what do you guys think of it? |

Haivng run an SP for 15 months and then an FS for a similar time I can assure you the FS is the better balanced car.
That said the SP ran well and you will find plenty of setups for it. The question you have to ask yourself is are you willing to race what you know to be a slightly inferior layout just to suit the stick type cells? |

I'm very curious as to why some folk want to choose a car just based on what batteries it can (or cannot) accomodate.
Personally, given the cost of racing, a couple of packs of cells isn't a good reason to not get a car. What I did was sell some stick pack, buy saddles, and get any car you want? You can use saddles in stick formation if necessary. |

Are the front and rear end of the SP an FS actually the same?
Do we have al the cars using stick packs in this thread now? Are there any more? Quote:

The front suspension is identical SP to FS, the front transmision case is not.
The rear suspension is identical SP to FS but not to FS2 and again the transmission case is different. The weight distribution is very different between the two cars also. |

I got on very well with my XXX4.
Simon's post was very true, 2 saddle packs are much less than the cost of the car, so why choose a car based on stick packs?

Forget the Losi!!!!!!!!!
Its old isnt made anymore and you wont be able to get a new one which is what you ideally want! Cat SX2 ![]() Im sure Col300 has his for sale might be worth a pm! Not the cleanest as hes not as anal as me but its a good car and competitive and a can of nitro cleaner will polish it up wonders haha ![]()

Not that it makes any difference to me but are you not thinking of the xx4 Gaz? XXX4 is current and used by most of the Losi drivers in the states. It's not great on bumpy tracks but on flat tracks it's ace.

according to the losi website the graphite version was introduced in 2003 and they are probably still available new as they are listed in the latest horizon hobby catalogue.
