That exploded parts pic is confusing....the diff case tree appears to have a diff clamp on the far right (it looks a lot like the 801 part), but you need two of them per diff!?

It looks like the Diff tree has a cover for the Spur Gear on the upper left side of the tree which you could maybe use instead of the blue aluminium if it´s very muddy? Might be wrong...

I would guess they are planning on doing a new shell for the 502X but haven´t got it ready maybe. I am sure if they don´t present it on the Hobby Show (and there was no presentation of a new Bodyshell) it won´t be released in conjunction with the kit that´s why i hope the 511 body and undetray will fit.

Muratti you could be right, tamiya didn't supply a shell with the 201 ( couldn't understand why ) so maybe they might do the same with the 502

That's what I don't understand with Tamiya, not including tyres I get, but no wheels or shell is just wrong, especially for cars where only one shell will fit.

Yes but with the 201 they released the body at the same time as the Chassis which i guess won´t happen with the 502X

That parts picture gives a big clue to there being a budget version.

On that parts tree is a plastic center spur mount and a plastic bearing cover. These look unused in the TRF kit due to it having alloy but I bet its the same parts tree used for the budget car. I bet there's another parts tree in production with a plastic front bulkhead and the pivot block holders on it. Throw in a another tree fro the towers, a moulded chassis and a cheapy plain ally motor mount and you have it .

Sounds nice but i think Hongkong seller will sell earlier than Champ, i had an email chat with Champ and they told me that the Hongkong seller do not stick to the Tamiya rules which say that Japan must be the first who sell a kit, don´t know why. I think if it´s the same as with the 201 Singapure will be the first to sell. I know a tamiyaclub member that can get the kits earlier than the Hongkong seller so i think i will buy from him again.

The body will be the same as the TRF511 for now. As for why the kit does not come with a body; there some "political reasons" for that. Not that is is right, just the way they work. Hopefully Tamiya America can provide the body and wing much like they did for the TRF201.

I think best Shop is Stellamodels to buy one of the earliest kits. If you know someone in Singapure who can buy at the big warehouses though, you might have the kit a few days before Stella gets them...

When you look at that diff case tree you realise that you will have to remove the topdecks to access the gearboxes...
8-10 screws to access gearbox then.

Motor mount/bulkhead is different, not same as shown on CAD-drawings. Maybe better?

As mentioned before, the plastic center bulkhead and the spur gear cover probably means that they will make a base model. Told you so...

I noticed on the other pics from Japan they don't seem to use the Ali front castor blocks on the car, I guess thy are heavier than the standard plastic!?

So, instead of the traditional style 3mm diff balls, these will be the 3/32 from the TRF201 and FF03. All Tamiya diffs seem to be going this way since the 417 will also be using this style diff.
