Ok so appologies, but i have another question. I have done loads of reading on diffs, but am still left a little confused.
Once rebuilt i tighten so i can't turn the pulley in the middle of the diff. I then put in the car and turn both wheels, (rear or front) and make sure it doesn't slip before the Slipper . My question is that if i lock 3 wheels and try and turn the 4th, i can. It is not loose, but not really hard to turn either. Does this matter or is this ok? Hope i explained this right! |

Just my way this so not gospel...Once diff in car and having done initial slipper set by the book, then back the slipper off so that it slips before the diffs, by alternating with the allen key in each of the setting holes, same end = diff, opposite = slipper...do it by feel turning the pair of wheels together. Then try it and see if there is any slip under load on the carpet. My view is for it to slip for maybe 2 feet. If it's slipping too much nip the slipper a little and recheck the diff so it's still tighter than the slipper, keep doing this until you are somewhere near, then when you get to the track where you are actually racing, you can fine tune a little by backing it off a bit if you need to. You can change the feel of the car by changing balance between front and rear diffs, and it explains this in the manual.
Good luck

Using either two allen drivers or a special tool i hold the outdrives and attempt to turn the diff gear i continue to tighten it in 1/8th of a turn incruments until it doesnt slip anymore.
