hi
im in need of a 10.5t motor for my schumacher mi4 touring car , as at the moment im using a 13.5t novak ss motor , but im upagainst all 10.5t's ..also at the moment i have a sp gt2.0 lpf esc fitted .. like this http://www.microtechracing.com//prod...997&Pcat=SPEED but in one of my other cars i have a nosram evolusion istc speedo ..like this http://www.microtechracing.com//prod...745&Pcat=SPEED but ive been told to fit the nosram istc speedo in my mi4 , but im not sure what motor will suit it , and im even more confused now ( it does'nt take much ) as the speedpassion esc has adjustable timing and the nosram istc one does'nt .. so chances are im going to need a motor with adjusable timing on the endbell .. i know of a lrp x11 stockspec 10.5t , would that suit the nosram esc ... cheers for any help , |

well, if the Speed Passion has adjustable timing, use that one, and use a motor that has it to, set the motor to 0' which gives you the grunt out of the corner, and then ramp the timing up on the ESC to give you the top end. I couldn't recomend a better motor than the Tekin Redline 10.5T.
Expect to use a lot more battery in one run though!

I believe the latest firmware for the Speed Passion v2.0 has timing advance (adjusts timing on the fly to give better top end speed).
I'm not sure if that particular Nosram has timing advance.

If you're on a budget why not try updating the Speedpassions software to the latest version with the variable timing. This is not the same as using a higher fixed timing or using higher timing on the motor.
You can then try your 13.5 and see how you go and then still get a 10.5 if you find it too slow. You will have to adjust your gearing if you use the variable timing on the speedo. Both of your speedos will be fine with whatever you choose to run but for 13.5 or 10.5 I'd go with the Speedpassion and the new sortware! |

You need the Hobbywing/Speedpassion LCD programming box which you can find here for example --> http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HOBBYWING-EZRU...item2557e1348a
The software is available for download on the speedpassion website and then it's just a case of following the instructions

The interface software has all the different firmwares integrated. You are looking for the 107 or 110 firmwares to put onto your speedo. It does the on-the-fly timing advance. Any more help and I'll have to come round your house and do the update for you
