Hi there, I'm hoping that one of you could help me out.
I was wanting to know if the above esc could handle a 6 cell pack if the wiring was upgraded and a heatsink is added? The ESC would just be used for bashing with a 7.5 light novak brushless in a 1/10 Tamiya F1 car. If you think that the GTB internals are totally different to the GTB 4 cell and cannot be converted to suit my application then please let me know. Thanks in advance Richard

Novak reply.......
The concern is that there is no heat sink to dissipate the heat that will generate from using a higher voltage pack. The circuitry will handle a 6 cell pack but you may need to find a heat sink from a standard GTB in order to do this. Respectfully, John Hallman Novak Electronics, Inc. $$ |

I have got a standard GTB heatsink if you want it.

i may get hold of a 4cell and do the same then do you have to put the heetsink straight onto the FETs or can it be to the top of the case

Thanks you you kind offer for the heat sink. I have manged to 'manufacture' a suitable heatsink, but as a matter of interest how much would it cost to buy your heat sink?
Also, another question, the 4 cell comes with 16 guage wiring, if i'm running a 5.5 lrp x11, should i upgrade to 14 guage or would the 16 be ok? I'm thinking the 16 my get a little warm, but i'm out for 100% performance so would that be an issue. thanks again richard |
