Loved the wall ride at the last meet but the downside to it was the center barrier that kept sliding down... If that could be solved then please stick in another!
Also jumps with down ramp landings, maybe design the downramp as more of a speedhump so it can be fell short of but jumping the whole thing results in a faster lap. All the tracks have been impressive though so I'm sure without our input it'll still be bloody good! |

if we did the wall thing again would you jump it with your durango like you did your sc10?

Haha yeah if I'm in a good mood I might do Rob! (Build something bigger for my SC10!!!)
A walkway could work though, doesn't matter what side the rostrum is on either. |

The track for sunday should be a nice flowing affair..
With NO big wall ride (night mare for marshalling) and NO matts of any length covered in carpet! (too random) I know its all about having abit of fun, BUT it gets very frustrating to some people... im just taking on board what people have said to me. So something that is " do-able " for all standards and not a marshall nightmare.. A nice table top using the table tennis tables some other smaller jumps using crash matts, just sensible stuff without going OTT.. Ive listened to what people have said to me and its exactly like worksop are now doing, fast flowing raceable tracks.. I'll be there on saturday so see everyone then! ![]() Cheers Nick |

Must say I agree Nick.
The mats under the carpet caught me out every bloody time and I built them for two rounds! I suspect they weren't a great idea. The wall ride shouldn't have been a marshalling issue, it became one when the centre post slid. Also ironically it wasn't really steep enough - a true wall ride needs no marshal- but we can't do that.

![]() The wall ride would work IF we are prepared to do it and make something that woud stay put.. BUT i feel we should do another track like ive already described... it keeps it enjoyable for everyone.. rather than frustrating because you cant do something ot frustrating because a marshall cant get to you quickly! Out of the 3 tracks we`ve had i liked the last one the most...
I think the matts were fine... and cause they were "random" factor, made them a hard to judge part of the course.. not everything should be took at a fast pace. see you Saturday Andy

2 more little ideas worth thinking about...
Corner jumps, you've had them before, just little ramps on a corner and then another further around the corner, they add some fun to it and can still be fast. Also random humps/bumps on a straight section. For example a little bump on the left side of the straight and then one on the right a little further on, something tricky to negotiate... |

![]() As ive said before, im going of comments from people who've raced at Bury before, its sections like this that people get annoyed with that dont stay consistent through out the meeting.. I'll say it again, a very simple fast flowing track will keep everyone happy... with jumps etc which are do-able by all standards and everything stays consistent.. Nobody likes an obstickle course... i know its not worksop BUT they have moved away from the obstickle courses they used to do and are making some of the best ever layouts.. Cheers Nick |

We have all standard of drivers racing at the Bury meet so its best to keep everyone happy... a random section would not go down well at all.. People drive at there own pace what ever there standard.. if for rounds 1 or 2 they have done the same section in a particular way then for 3 & 4 it completely changes its not good.. We will see what happens! Nobody has come to me about not having the ripples, just not to have them on a corner. So please let me know about the track lay out as I do spend some time drawing the lay outs?
Also could someone stop sending me pictures of shoes!!!! They have not told me who it is and I dont recognise the number? |

woody i think nick is on about the jumps/matts not staying the same for each round like carpet on the blue matts in the first meeting and the landing jump of the platform in the second meeting, but at the end of the day only tape holds them together so what do people expect! but i think what nick is getting at is that we need to make obsticles that work everytime all day without needing repair.the foam matts under the carpet were good last time we should do them again

Nothing too OTT, flowing, fast but not overly easy.
I like the table top with a good lengthy downramp - so speed can be carried into the next (flowing) corner, such as at round 1 infront of rostrum. |

whoa is this not off road racing. not touring cars . matts overlaid with carpet is great . it should be more like a motocross track. whoops big tables . doubles. rob i lovin the double table top idea. fast and flowing sucks. off road bumpy random action . big air . and crazy obstacles. am currently working on some jumps for rossendale club with a skate park desighner/builder. autocad the lot. testing some on sat with him then gonna try make it up to chadderton to help build. off road racing rules. fast and flowings for touring cars and mardaves

The track needs to be do-able for all standards... nobody enjoys it if they cant do stuff etc and breaking cars because of them every round.. the club is in its second year at this venue... and by far the most popular tracks are the ones which flow with features, not too many and not to obstickle course type... For what your saying you want... Bashing.... local quarry or sommit.. ![]() Cheers Nick |
