Default Help needed creating a website please?

I really need advice on software to design a professional website for my business.
It only has to be very basic, just information and photographs, no online ordering. ANY help appreciated. I really dont know a thing about this, but i know the company i have been sub contracting to has no work and i have staff with no work.

Notepad can do it.

MS do a free version of visual web developer but its a bit heavy for a basic site.

If it's professional you want then you are best finding a designer who can design and code it all for you. Doing one yourself will not give you a professional looking website to be honest.

If this is the case then you can do yourself, I see that blog software (Wordpress) is being increasingly used as a website. The bonus of this being that it can be setup and installed with 1 click using most hosting companies, it is easily maintained and filled with content by someone who has little to no coding or design knowledge and you can customize them with thousands of themes to customize it to your needs.

if you have a good designer make you a picture of what you want then cutting it up and tabling the site isn't very hard really

I coded www.organicrevolution.co.uk a few years back and a friend just delivered me 6-7 pictures of what the site should look like. I made the CMS part with PHP which will take a bit to learn how to do that, but the basics where just putting everything into tables

we made the site so the customer can change their box contents easily and we haven't heard from them since lol.
