Default North East mid week racing

Guys,

Does any one know the details of the clubs that run off road during the week? e.g. Who are they? Where are they? What time start and finish?

Cheers

The only place that is localish is Longbenton and to be honest its not great. I went through a full set of mini spikes from brand new the other week on my 4 wd
2 wd is fine for tyre wear but the surface is a bit slippy!

Bring back the good old days at Jarrow. Plenty of people there and always a great track. I was at Seaham on Sunday at the first round of the Winter series and there were only 3 cars in 2wd!!
We need a club on a weeknight again but we would struggle for somebody to be there every week and timing gera would be a problem!
Gutted that ive got 2 and a half hours to travel just to race!
Any ideas??

We've been trying to source a list of local clubs, most do run weekends apart from Longbenton, there is Birtley on a Sunday evening if that would be any use? We are trying to get full details of that club but most contact info is well out of date.

If a club was to start I am sure timing gear could be sourced to use if someone knew how to use it, venue would be the hardest thing to source @ suitable cost as we found. Pleased Seaham venue is being supported more than Jarrow was or it'd be struggling to cover the rent. Attendance of the winter series wasn't expected to be amazingly high due to being short notice/something new.

Ive got to say, Midweek evenings would be better for me, and Im sure a few others as if you work all week, the ear bending you get from the Mrs about spending time with family etc instaead of playing with toy cars is unbeleivable. And my mrs is good, I race motorbikes in the summer, it costs £k's and she just lets me get on with it (as its interesting for her to watch)

I dont mind racing on a sunday when theres a competition on. I just cant be bothered racing every week on a sunday as i would rather do somthing else with my day off. 1 in 3 week ends i am trying to come to seaham

Fridays at Gateshead??

I used to race there when i first started. Was a laugh when i was younger but you get older and wise up to people dont you.
I would love something to do midweek cos like some others i get grief if i race weekends. Its fine for big comps but not every week. Bring back midweek racing. Would Seaham youth centre let us race there midweek if we could get enough people?? Anybody have a contact number and i will ring them myself if people are interested??

Seaham have events on every night, that's why we could only have a sat or sun.

When I phoned round anywhere that had space midweek wanted £25 plus an hour

On a personal note I would love it to go back to midweek racing, then I can start racing other classes/clubs again.

Default possible future venues..

hello chris, have you tried looking at other venues in longbenton area? have a look at www.westmoor.org.uk. the prices for this hall seem ok. however i dont know if they will entertain rc toy cars even; just a place i found searching for poss... venues in the future. £32.50 for 3 hr hire of sports hall. storage? dont know. i know that the north east is desparate for venues to race our toy cars though.

I got back into racing this year after big lay off, racing at Brandling (Gateshead) on Friday night with a very welcoming and helpful club.

Im still holding out hope of a midweek club return somewhere, but its not easy getting a booking. How big is the Gateshead track?

this is the same chris that stabbed himself in the leg is it not?! i suppose if you spend ££££ on a car you must call it an animal. so hows it going with the toy cars then? no, good potential venue if longbenton decides to move on.
