Default Speed Passion motor sensor died

It appears the sensor has gone in my V3 motor after 5 meetings

It ran perfect tuesday night at club and tonight I powered it up and was greeted by a screaming from the car and an electric burning smell

I stripped the motor down and all looks ok, but still no go. The motor will 'run' without a sensor, but it has no go and it's notchy as hell. obviously you can't drive it like that. If you spin up the rotor yourself with some 'gas' on the tranny it will run and you can rev it up (not hold it on flat out). As soon as it stops spinning it won't start again.

Does anyone know where I can buy either a replacement sensor to get it running for Kiddy on sunday or where I can buy a 7.5 V3 motor tomorrow?

Just check the solder joints on the pins of the sensor lead connector. I don't know about the V3's, but the joints on the older motors (and orion/GM - all the same) were not good at all, I've re soldered many of them over the last couple of years.

Default Toyeast has them

http://cgi.ebay.com/Speed-Passion-Se...item5ad48387ad

Or at their website:
http://www.toyeast.com/v3/pdtdetail....t_id=A02123103

Toyeast are OK, but whenever they are out of stock, it takes a while and then they send you an apologetic email saying there was a fault with the item in the warehouse. So they're not the perfect vendor for getting stuff quickly.

However they always refund promptly and I've never lost money on them.

ok turns out not to be the motor. just connected a nosram storm evo to it and it does exactly the same as the V3 did.

must be the speedo. at least that's under warranty!
