All you need are ball races for £8 and some form of second hand alloy shocks like B4 shocks, probably about £25. So that makes it out of the box around £80-85.
Yes you could get a second hand B4 for that money, but it depends if it suits your style and what condition it is.
The Madrat is extremely safe to drive, very similar to an RB5, yet it is a third of the current RB5 price even when you include new shocks. So in that respect is is a very good choice.

The new t-piece is meant to be stronger so that issue has gone. I've also had no issues with any other weaknesses on the car, the plastic is fine. Yes it will break if you crash at a rate of knots, but so will a B4 or X6.

Go for the pro mate. its not just the suspension thats different to the rat. there are so many up graded differences its worth the extra. I have both kits so i know this is fact. but the plastics are identical as the part numbers are the same so ignore any talk of plastics.
