Default New Factory Driver

We are pleased to announce Simon Willetts our 1/8th driver is running the RB5 and Lazer over the winter.

First time out at the pro-line he managed 2nd overall behind Teddy Truman.
He will be running at Worksop in 2wd and 4wd. i will see if we can get some setups.

Good to see Simon back to his roots! He was always a really helpful and friendly guy and I'm sure he'll be more than happy to help.

All we need to do now is get him to some proper off-road meetings (no roof needed )

Yea its great news.

He has been great in Rallycross for Kyosho this year. and it kind of came out the blue for him to race EP again. I hope over the winter he can learn about the cars and we can persuade him to play outdoors.

Does anyone have the results from Worksop?
I know Simon got 7th overall told me he was in a slow qualifying group but managed 2nd best time of the day behind craggy.

make sure to say hello to him is a great guy and for only his 2nd time out is already mixing with the best racers.

hi neil.. i came up with si to worksop. his car was dialled from the start, not much need for setup change. Just got a little unlucky in the final.. but he definitely had the pace.

I myself will need to have more practice with 2wd, completely different to a rallycross car. lol

Lol I wouldn't call 2nd to top heat a slow qualifying group, but yeah Simon was bang on the pace. He got a 5th in round 1 and 2nd in round 4 that put him 5th on the grid. Then in the finals I'm not too sure what happened but just before passing the loop for the first time he flipped over and restarded way back, clawed his way back up to 5th only to make a few more mistakes. wasn't too sure where he finished tbh, but his car looked real good.

He'll certainly be in top heat next time.

I was marshalling his heat (heat5).. just before the tabletop.. and have to say his car looked spot on.. very quick etc.. and looked that way all day

Had some bad luck from what i saw in a couple of his qualifiers and again in the A final... He was all over the back of a few A finalists and pileing the pressure on..

See if you can get his set up on here.. from looking over his car it was very soft all round and low and was running the inside hole on the front wishbone.. this would explain why it looked sooooo quick through the chicane.. it looked like he had to be carefull at the end of the straight though, to much turn in and the back end wanted to step out.. car looked really chuckable Looking forward to see how he gets on with his FS

I am waiting for his race report and i will see if we can get a set up.
Just beware that Simon runs with loads of steering, that might not suit everyone. I had a go with his MP9 and it was crazy far too much steering for me.
Oh and i am looking forward to the FS too.

You know all the Orion gear he is running is the old spec, we have a new range of motors and ESC coming. So looking forward to seeing what he can do with the FS.

Hi Gurdy,

2wd is the fun and the harder class. Maybe should should try 4WD that will be more like RX to you. either way you Rx is sure to improve for next season
