our daughter came home from nursery yesterday with 2 inch of her hair missing, i looks like someone put it into a pony tail and cut about 2inch off of it. the nursery is denying it.
i dropped her off and i picked her up 3 hours later so i know it happened there. i would love to go down to the nursery and cut the hair off every teacher, but i dont fancy the police trouble i would get. the nursery only had kids aged 2 to 3 and a half so i cant see it been another kid that did it. here's the details on our daughter she is 2 and a half, but only has a mental age of 1, she can't talk so can't tell us what happened we have had other problems with the nursery, ie- sending her home in wet clothes after playing in water, giving her milk when they know she's lactose intollerant and clothing going missing from her bag we went to the nursery last week intending to pull her out, but they convinced us to keep her there, she's only been going for 3 weeks and has no friends there

I've got two kids and i have taken my daughter out of a school in the past. Don't be afraid to do this as if your daughter is unhappy or things are happening to her then get her out as soon as possible.
Moving my daughter was one of the best things i've done. Wash your hands of that place and concentrate on getting your daughter into a place that you and her are happy with. You know when you have found the right place and this doesn't sound like it not by a long shot. |

Right, not trying to pick an argument, but.... with having five kids go through nursery, reception and what not.... things do happen, like cutting hair, bumps, bites, fights, all that shenanigans, it just does happen, and pretending it don't, is just pointless and futile.
What is strange though, is that, you still have your daughter in a nursery, unsuitable for her needs, move her out. Regards informing the Social Services, pointless waste of time, I would suggest you be better asking them to refer you to a suitable child minder.

You do not sound comfortable leaving your daughter in the nursery, so don't.
It sounds badly managed and as they have given your child milk against your request it just shows a lack of care or understanding. Hopefully you can find some alternative childcare, but please report your experience to the council +/ head office if this is a national nursery group as other children may be at risk if this is not brought to their attention. Lets not forget that children will be in the odd knock and scrape, get bitten at nursery, etc......, but you shouldn't leave a child where you don't have complete faith in the adults that look after them. |

write an official complaint to them, and is do they come under Ofsted? Also, a copy to Social Services, and leave it at that.

Im not a father but i wasnt in nursery that long ago and i remember it pretty well. You do get in the odd bump and scrape and get wet from playing in the water pool etc. This is fine aslong as the nursery staff look after you if this does happen making sure your comfortable and not cold. And if your daughter gets in a bumb, i would like to think one of the members of staff would come to you and say O Mr bigoggy your daughters had a bit of a bump today she ran into the corner of the table. The sort of things kids do.
Hope you get it sorted soon dude. A
