This problem is with my trf501x,but its mostly electric.
Ok trans charged, batterys charged, all pluged in hold car off groung put on power goes like stink, altho some times just cuts out steering goes one way whole thing freezes for 3 seconds,But when on groung hardly no power at all and when power does kick in i loose radio contact and again stops for 4 seconds, realy doing m head in. Electricts are as follows speedo gtb 2.4 spectrum futaba 2.4 trans 5.5 light motor It worked fine few months back but had to strip it to put a new chassis on now this problem. Hope some one can poss give some pointers. Thanks. |

Sounds like it could possibly be the 6v out on the speedo?. The spectrums cut out and go into failsafe for a few seconds when the power gets low such as during heavy acceleration. I had this problem with my TC so I banged a capacitor into the RX and it was fine. It could be that the 6v output is a bit dicky and is not giving the RX enough power even under normal driving so its constantly going into failsafe which would also explain loosing steering. Only way to test it is to try a different speedo or disconect the esc to radio power wires and try a 6v bat pack and see if it still does it.
Spectrums are also very bad if the aerial wire is broken. If its broken on the board the range can be reduced to a few feet. Ive had this happen before. Other than that I'm out of ideas.

Similar thing happened to me when a wire dropped off my esc's capacitor
I've also heard it's not uncommon for gtbs and spektrums not to get along ![]() |
