Hes just telling you that theres a "cheap" RTR version @ around £169 and a fully race "competition" model @ around £300. Don`t get the two confused when looking for second hand purchases.

How much are you looking to pay? I know to two competition spec rollers, one with carbon chassis conversion, alloy lower wishbone pivot blocks etc, other a standard version apart from the alloy lower wishbone pivot blocks. Maybe other bits and pieces on both, but they are not mine and can't remember everything

Dont get the RTR, my mate got one and with the supplied 20t motor it ate two UJ's, snapped an out drive and blew the top of a shock. The normal version is a good car. I have one I'm thinking of selling if I get a good offer. Its got genuine kyosho rear-front & rear-rear alloy adjustable pivot blocks and an atomic carbon top deck. Just fitted a brand new chassis too. Plus there's a fair few spares, just depends if its worth selling.

Std ZX5: Good car, but getting old now. £35 - £50 depending condition and spares.

ZX5 RTR: Poor car for racing, but a good cheap car for new starters and bashing. Basically a STD car, but with cheaper plastics and inferior drive train. Comes Ready To Run.

ZX5 SP: Can be converted from the std car, or bought as a new kit. A massive improvement from std using more traditional steering and suspension geometry. £80 - £150 depending on spares and condition.

ZX5 FS: Uses SP steering and suspension, but with a saddle pack chassis and relocated motor. Some say this is the best yet, but I've never run one so don't know. Worth alot of money at the mo.

I run a converted SP at club and regional level with no problems, no major breakages and get (or have got...) reasonable results. The only down side to the car is there are few that do trackside spares, so you need a good stock with you whenever racing.
Prices above are very rough guides and (apart from the RTR) don't include electrics.

p.s. I run lipo and brushed in mine, so know nothing about brushless gearing!!
