Feed the throttle in gently!

Actually you've got a Mamba esc haven't you?

Ok - set the esc up with:
Punch control 100%
Start power low

That should help. If it doesn't:

Set the throttle curve up so that you have a very shallow start, rising rapidly at about 80% throttle.
Then get a little piece of fuel tubing or similar rubber stuff and stick it behind the trigger on your handset. Ideal it should make it much harder to get more than 80% throttle.
The idea here is to restrict the maximum power of your car to keep it in the zone you can control. Sounds counterintutitive for racing, but remember the old saving:
'In order to finish first, first you have to finish'
At first you WILL set faster lap times with a slower car. Its a proven fact. When you get better, then you start to dial back some of that speed

Take it to the meeting like the man says, I'm sure people will be able to help at the track!

Once there they'll tell you how much to cut off the tires too!

Why not fetch it up to the indoor meeting on friday... If you have to go early for the bus, thats ok.... At least your car will be set up and you will get a little practice too. Or just fetch it along on sunday and we will help you out then. There are plenty of people willing to help you out

Get yourself down the track.. Once people get to meet you as a lot seem to want to help you out with your car, all this crap will die down. I apologise for anything I wrote about you.
Dont give up dude.
