I have just got my first lipo pack and bought a fairly cheap lipo charger for it. I realise now that this charger is not a balancing one. Can someone advise whether i am likely to cause significant damage to, or reduce the life of my battery if I use this.
I have a 2s 5000mah battery, and the charger is a Prolux 3830 Lipo4. click here Thanks |

It's best to balance charge a Lipo every few charges (like every 5 charges), so see if you can borrow one.
Failing that, Flighttech sell a V-Balancer, and Logic RC (both distributors) sell a seperate balancer, so you don't need a balance charger. Links: V-Balancer, site's being re-done at the moment. Make sure you get the black plane/heli one, as adapter leads for different balance plugs are easier to find. Fusion 6S, this comes with three different balance boards, one for JST-XH plugs, one for TP plugs and one for PQ plugs. |
