I'd recommend the core's, very good lipo's for the money !

I'd also consider the Intellects at £50

Agreed, and if you take to much off some lipo hard cases, you will have a hole in the case before you get the hump level to the bottom of the rest of the lipo case. Especially the intellects with carbon look case.

OK! Check this out. The SMC 4700 40c Lipos have humps on the base, but the can be used upside down because there are tube connectors on each side. Genius. Will work no problem in the SX, and they are 40c

Exactly the same principal as the LRP/Nosram's available here in the UK already, BUT LRP etc are BRCA legal, the SMC are not......

Indeed I do want BRCA legal as at some point I will be doing an event. Bit late for this year though

Any plans for the vampire racing to have the connectors on the other side too?

They are not allowed to change the spec once it is submitted for BRCA/EFRA approval, if they did they would be illegal. So in short, no not at present

I didn't know intellect did 5000's with 40C. Perfect for tourers

The only problem with the LRP's is that there £99.99 RRP but I suppose you pay for quality. The Orion 3800 are still £89.99 and they're only 30C but the cells are Kokam.

You pay for quality

Just weighed some GP 4000's and some 5000's and a pack of Orion 3800

GP 4000 : 232g
GP 5000 : 272g
Orion 3800 : 231g

Orion's were only 1g lighter than the GP4000's but they look so much smaller and look look less bulky

I would MUCH sooner have an LRP 5300 40C for £99 RRP than an Orion 3800 30C for a tenner less (£89 RRP).

Orion may be Kokam's but the LRP's are not exactly cheap and nasty tat inside, they are excellent quality too with more capacity and power to boot.

What LIPOs did you get in the end and how many have moved to the new stiffer chassis?

I got the GP 4300 35c Lipos from Hong Kong in the end
Only £40 with P&P
Had to take abit of the humps on the lipos to make them fit under the battery bar, but they fit fine
Used the same chassis

Don't want to dremel the batteries etc. So it sounds like a no go.

My thoughts exactly, whats the point in spending all that money and then becoming illegal..
