I was a little disappointed by the battery strap. great for lipos, but not very sideways stick friendly as I had my connectors on L bars so the bar wouldn't lock down.

modded the cells now and the bar slightly so it all fits in nice now. just took it down the road and it's performing nice.

now 2 days til racing

Exactly the same thing has happened to me. I thought the slipper was loose aswell, so tightened it, to no avail. Took the wheel off and it was completely melted, I need to replace the wheel nut aswell

Default SC10 wheels

Other tips to consider:

1. Put a washer under the nut, it's been mentioned on RC10.com that the nut is bottoming out on the stub before the face of the flange is FULLY pressed up against the wheel. May be true may be idle 'net speculation but either way one washer doesn't hurt and may do some good.

2. Keep a spare set of wheels ready.

Where can I get some of these longer drive pins that some people have been using? Is there a particular type or are you all just scrabbling about in your boxes of bits for a "something-like"?

Would this wheel issue warrant a switch to hexes, at least for the rear?

I believe Slash wheels are 12mm hex fitments, and I think NTC3 or Losi XXX-S hexes will fit the axle?

Anyone tried a LRP SPX Stock with a 10.5 in their SC10

or one of the new SXX with a modified ??

I've also had the same problem with the wheels, not nice?

Not quite. I've got SPX Bullet ESC running a 10.5 Vector Stock-Spec motor. It's very nice and amply quick enough for me. I'd guess with the "Stock-spec" maximising software a Stock Spec ESC would be even faster if only by a little bit.

Hereford club runs a good heat every fortnight. 7 cars last week. It was a right laugh and good fun on carpet with 10 or so jumps and a "wall" section.

Re the racing, we run them at Mansfield on a Wed night. Anywhere between 3 and 7 so far. Be nice to get some good numbers. They are awesome on our mixed surface indoor track. DO come and have a play. We'll be there with ours tomorrow night.

Cheers Wez,
It was taken at my local BMX track. It's actually blurred as fudge! but it adds a bit of 'atmosphere' to it. And you can't really tell when its made smaller.

People should be getting more pics of their SC10's running.

That vid is superb!

What motors are you guys running? Do you have any basic rules / limitations about tyres and motor limits etc?

We're hoping for an outdoor heat at EPR in the winter series. Unfortunately, Leominster is a bit far for us to get to on a Friday night but with luck, local 'pockets' of interest can soon become a flood with many clubs running them. We've got about 6 or so at the moment and that will hopefully keep growing as people take them to regionals etc and blat them around for fun.

The greatest testament of the SC10 for me is that out of all my cars (and those who know me will know that's more than I really need), the SC10 is the one that makes me grin the most and is the one that I'll still play with in the street.
Hell, I'm just a (thirty) nine year old kid.
I love 'em!!
